Hi everyone!!
I have been in Coquille for about a week now, and so far so good! There is definitely a lot of work to do here and that's great. It's an older community and not a ton of people here. We do have some other little towns that we try and cover as well. It's super wet here and kinda gloomy haha. The sun shines every once in a while! Haha
My first night here we talked to this guy named Seth. Turns out he had a mission call, but just decided that the church wasnt for him. He told us that he knows the Book of Mormon is true, but that he is waiting for something big to push him jn the right direction. We challeneged him to re read the Book of Mormon and promised him he would know what God wants him to do. I really felt strongly that we need to keep in touch with him, so we are going to try and stop by again this week! So also this week we taught this couple, their names are Ray and Tina. We go over and help Tina read, then after we teach them a lesson. They came to church Sunday, which was super super awesome!! On Saturday we spent all day trying to find people to teach. It was a long day, but right before the end we found this lady who had met with missionaries before and decided to go see her. She let us right in and told us this was her first time letting missionaries in. She went to rehab about a year ago and has just been looking for the right changes to make. She gave us hugs and asked us to come back. We are staying in contact with her through Facebook and we are super excited to meet with her again!! On Sunday I got to see the McLarrin family. That was a huge blessing. I have missed them so much and it was great to catch up. I will definitely take advantage of how close they are now!!
My new companion is super awesome. I will be her last companion so we are just going to work super hard to get the work going in this area. The members here are great and feed us almost every night, and when they don't we go to Subway, since that's all they have here ;)
I am so grateful to be a missionary and I love serving. I know that President Monson is a prophet of God. I pray that all of us will take the time to reflect on all he has taught us. I know that Jesus Christ leads this church and he does so through a prophet. I love you all and hope you have a good week! :)
