Insanely busy week again… barely had time to recalibrate. Good thing it’s P-day and we get to unwind and play a little basketball. A busy week is a good week for missionaries though, so it was great.
One of my favorite parts of the week is teaching English. I teach at the Government Palace in the Ministry of Education Division, which is downtown in the capital city of UB in a glass building overlooking the main road. Our class is always really fun and the students have entertaining ideas. I also teach a larger class of 50 students at our main Church building.
After class on Friday, I had a bunch of students come up and ask me about the picture of the “white castle” on the wall. Due to government restrictions, I am limited in how much I can say, but I explained that it’s our church's special place of worship, called a temple. I got their contact information and sent out referrals to the missionaries in their areas. Lucky enough, one of them happened to live in our Selbe area! His name is Temuulen (or Temka) and he's 22 years-old. We have taught him a lesson every day since our first meeting. He is excited to learn and asked to take the lessons in English! I say a sentence and then if he gives me a confused look, I translate it.
It’s been really nice to be so busy lately. I feel really blessed in the work, especially considering how small our area is. We had 11 appointments between Saturday and Sunday alone! We taught our 14 year-old investigator girl named Nasaa, Temka a few times, a new investigator named Telmuun, and then another guy named Munkhuu, along with several other meetings with members and less actives.
Life is good, and I love the news that we can Skype our families every week. I feel so much more connected with them and it gives me energy to keep going through the week. I am grateful to be serving in Mongolia!
