Such a Good Dog

Don't trust Russian weather it always jukes you out!

It was SOO warm a couple days ago like +12C and then sunday we woke up and i looked out the window and screamed.
sister ibragimova ran to me and was like "what happened are you ok?!?!"
and i, through tears, said "its snowing..."
don't trust Siberia i repeaat don't trust it hahaha

Besides that we had a pretty awesome week! we have been pretty unlucky with meeting with our friends who want to learn more :( but i hope i can meet with them this week!

We met lots of people this week. It's been warmer and people are bringing out their dogs and its lots of fun. I miss my dog.

We made it to 3 babushki in one day and got fed soup twice and literally they don't believe you when you say "i'm full" and so i ate a lot of soup. at least they were yummy.

We made a friend Vadim the taxi driver and gave him a book of mormon! way funny guy.

we met with another babushka on one of the sunny days and walked with her and her nonmember daughter on tateshava (this island park in the river) and we got there and she was like "where's the shashlik (kebobs)" and we were like "lets walk first and then get food." and probably every 5 mintues she asked "ok we've walked now, where's the shashlik?" haha

we finally celebrated womens day! oh man it was awesome. The way that almost every ward party works is:
1. everyone shows up late (duh)
2. then they start making food
3. we all gather into the sacrament hall and people perform
4. missionaries usually sing
5. babushki usually recite poetry
6. then KARAOKE hahaha
7. then food
i think its funny that the food always goes last and in America its ALWAYS first! priorities.

The Lord doesn't ask us the change the world. He asks us to change ourselves and to try to help others. that doesn't work all the time, but what do you do about it? not much. you pray and press forward. and yeah that fight doesn't end until death. sometimes its hard to think about it that way. that's a really long time to give 100% to a really long life. But if we stop its not on the world. God doesn't accept any excuses, and so we should just keep going (keep swimming). And the Lord has promised that if we humble ourselves before him and have faith in Him that "His grace is sufficient" and I know that's true. He makes up the difference after all we can do.

Sometimes I'm overwhelmed by how mean people are. sometimes I'm in shock about the evils of the world around me. I found this scripture that really helped me:

4 Behold, I am laboring with them continually; and when I speak the word of God with sharpness they tremble and anger against me; and when I use no sharpness they harden their hearts against it; wherefore, I fear lest the Spirit of the Lord hath ceased striving with them.

5 For so exceedingly do they anger that it seemeth me that they have no fear of death; and they have lost their love, one towards another; and they thirst after blood and revenge continually.

6 And now, my beloved son, notwithstanding their hardness, let us labor diligently; for if we should cease to labor, we should be brought under condemnation; for we have a labor to perform whilst in this tabernacle of clay, that we may conquer the enemy of all righteousness, and rest our souls in the kingdom of God.

The Lord doesn't ask us the change the world. He asks us to change ourselves. His grace is sufficient. He makes up the difference after all we can do.

Love you all,
Sister Wilcox

oh also the title line is from sister ibragimova when she saw a pug haha
