Revelation Is Real!!!
Oh my goodness, this week was so full of the Spirit (and fun stuff too!!)... I don't even know where to start!!!
So everyone remembers the sunburn on my legs from last week right?! I know, I'm from California... how does that happen? Answer is... I don't know, I was literally only outside for an hour!! Anyways, I've been getting made fun of by the other missionaries because it looks like I've gotten bruised, but I haven't. On Monday was trying to figure out how to make it better ao i bpuhht sone hydrocortisone to put on it and it was helping. Then my mom told me to get some benadryl to help the rash thingy. So we asked the assistants and they gave us approval that night to go get some. Well when we did we went to Walgreens (I love that place!!), they always have sale and deals. Well, it was cheaper to buy 2 boxes of medication than one. So as I grabbed 2 my companion asked why and told me u was wasting money. I don't know I just felt like I should buy 2. Well, on Tuesday we went to a service project with the Spanish Elders. One of the poor elders (he is from Mexico) was having some super bad allergies, and I just so happened to by 2 boxes of medication the night before. So I gave him a box and he has been a lot better! I'm telling you people, sometimes we are prompted to do crazy things but there is a rhyme to every reason!!
On Tuesday, we had more service and moving!!! Our senior couple (my first set on my mission) has a fee tandem bikes so the elders usted their regular bikes and Sister Blalock and I used a tandem bike... it was so much fun!! We thought missionaries get weird looks walking on the street, try riding a tandem bike... people were giving us weird looks and others were doing double takes because they couldn't believe what they were seeing!!
Oh my goodness... have I ever expressed my love for Zone Meetings?!?! Okay probably not because they are hours long and you get spiritually fed with makes you emotionally tired... but this one was A-MAZING!!!! As we walk in there is a familiar face. He is an older man with his wife and he has a voice that is very distinct. Well, it turns out he is Elder Holland's son!! He was called as a mission president in North Carolina and came to our Zone Confrence for a tad bit of training!! There was a part in the day where we had to teach an "investigator" and guess who I got/has to teach?!?! Yep, President Holland!!! It was so scary, neveracking, and awesome at the same time. Then around 3:30 our Zone Confrence was coming to a close, yet I felt like my questions weren't quite answered! The past few months have been pretty difficult for me. I'm not going to go into detail (stories may be told later on down the road), but it's been tough. I've been praying and just not understanding this thing called life and why I have to go though this as a missionary. I signed up for this, I should be enjoying it. Well, we all know the song out of the children's songbook "A child's prayer"... of not look it up, it's a good one! Well lately the first part has been going through my head and I this is my exact thought process "Heavenly Father, are you really there? And do you hear and answer every child's prayer? Because I don't even know if you are listening anymore!!". Well, at this time in Zone Confrence... the missionaries (3 elders) who will be going home bore their testimonies. The second Elder is one of my Zone Leaders, his name is Elder Carvalho. He got up and as he was talking he said "I've had terrible areas, bad companions, and thrown into even worse situations... but as I pray and look back, Heavenly Father reminds me that this is only 2 years of my life and that I'm not alone. To press on with faith and hope and everything will be okay!! " while saying that he looked at me. At that moment I realized that the is what God wanted me to hear... it's only 18 months, I can make it! It was super frustrating that through all of the hours of this meeting, my answer came in the last 10 minutes...but I am glad that I recognized it!!
On Friday our super awesome investigator (Nick) but himself on date!! We were sitting in our Combined District Meeting and he texted us and said "I PRAYED ABOUT A BAPTISMAL DATE!!!" so we responded "ANDDDDD?!?!?!" and he said that he felt like he should be baptized on July 28th. In the middle of the meeting we freaked out and got super excited!!! He is such an awesome kid!! However, he is going through a super tough time right now so things got a bit crazy! Normally we have his lessons at a family's house and he asked if we could go walk around the park and talk instead so we did... for an hour and a half. He was just venting and needing support so we were there like we promised him the first time we met him!! He is super awesome and reminds me so much of my little brother just a little more crazy and red headed!
Saturday was our landlords birthday!!! Our district came over to help her finish cleaning her garage (we've been doing it for a few weeks) then we had a BBQ with her. Sister Blalock and o bought her a rose, balloons, and an ice cream cake!! Surprises are super hard especially when you constantly gave to be with your companion and when the Elders almost ruin it twice!! Then an hour after we helped her we attended the Orem Parade!!! It was a blast and a half!!! There were about 45 missionaries and everyone was screaming like crazy!!! It was so much fun! We got home around 9:30ish and were super duper tired!! But it was super fun, we are all pumped for the Fourth of July Provo Parade!!!
Last night was crazy! We were helping a less active because he was sick and then when we got home we planned on showering then going strait to bed. Bit sometimes others have different plans! At around 9:40 Nick calls. He was having a tough time so we talked to him all night. He said he was going to bed then hung up. Not even an hour later he called again and talked to us until one in the morning. I don't normally do this but to those who read this far, could you please keep Nick in your prayers?! We loved how he trusted us yet we sort of wished that we were able to get more sleep cause we had to wake up early to attend the temple today!! Due to limited time I will explain my suoer awesome temple expirence next week!! I am so blessed to be serving in Orem even though it is crazy sometimes!! Thank you to those who email me just to say hi, y'all are the best!! I love you all and hope this week brings you happiness!!!
Love Always,
Sister Bos ❤
