Hey Y'all!
Can you believe it? Your girl Sister Simons has been on her mission for 18 months! Y'all, I have 2 and a half weeks left of the best experience I've ever been apart of. My heart is aching to be honest. Words cannot explain how grateful I am for this time here with the people of South Carolina. Being able to testify of the Savior in the homes of the most faithful people I've ever met is something I will cherish forever. I have learned and grown more than I ever thought possible! I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who knows me and put me on this spiritual journey. I have met so many people who have blessed my life and have helped me to feel of God's love.
But out of all of the amazing things I have learned and experienced, I have come to know of the truthfulness of this gospel. I have come to learn the reality of a living Savior and Father who know and love us always with a love we can only catch a glimpse of. I can tell you with all that I am that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ can and will bless and change your life, IF you let it. We can learn many things from the Book of Mormon. One thing I have learned is that the Book of Mormon has a power unlike anything I have read. They are real words from real people and real experiences that can help us understand who Christ is and how we can follow Him and return back to God.
The last 18 months I have seen the broken, healed. The sad, filled with joy. The angry, softened. I would say that I had a part in it, but I didn't. I didn't do a thing on my mission by myself. The only reason I was able to accomplish what I did is because I had Christ and the Spirit by my side. There were days I struggled and questioned "Why?" I had days I literally gave all my struggles to the Lord to take. I also had days that I felt the power of the Holy Ghost touch the hearts of those we spoke to and testified to. By the time I leave my mission I would have studied the Book of Mormon everyday for 578 days and will continue daily to increase that number. I will do that because if we are praying earnestly daily, feasting upon the words in the scriptures and keeping the commandments that God has set for us, we will have Him at our side and within reach.
Nothing I could ever type out would make you understand the pure joy my mission has brought me. To think that it's coming to an end is one of the hardest yet most fulfilling things. I can't thank y'all enough for the love and support I have received. Keep me on track ok? Hold me accountable to continue my spiritual progression. I love y'all. God Bless!
Ps. Homecoming information will be coming soon so watch out for it.
Sister Simons
