Hey Y'all!
In case you've forgotten who I am, my name is Sister Simons and I love being a missionary! This week has been pretty awesome, not just because I have the best companion in the whole world but because I am serving the Lord! This week I have been thinking about something that means a lot to me. I was reading in the Book of Mormon in 2 Nephi and Christ is saying, "I am the light" That has stuck with me this week for so many reasons. One is because of how true that is. I remember a specific time in my life I felt no light. I was so down and discouraged and just felt so alone. It got so bad that the only thing I knew could help me would be to rely on my Savior. I started doing something I had never really done in the past, I started applying the Atonement to my life. I had never prayed so hard and consistently as I did at this time. Day after day I started seeing a little more light in my life. There was so much light, happiness and peace that I completely changed. The darkness and guilt was completely gone. The Atonement of Jesus Christ allowed me to be lifted from one of the darkest places in my life, to the closest I have ever felt to my Savior. Please if you are not applying the Atonement in your life, do so. You will never feel more joy and light than when you do. Also, the Atonement is not only for sin, it's for everything!!! So use it! I love y'all so much!
