Malo etau ma'u 'ae pongipongi ni!!!!
'Oku mou fefe hake? We had a beautiful week! Each week goes by at 100mph (or in Australia kph). My companion and I are running around everywhere freaking out because there is not enough time in the day to do all that we need to do ha. We see miracles every day!
We have a ward temple trip on December 2-3rd and our mission president gave us permission to go if we have an investigator come to be on the ground. (That NEVER happens!!!) The temple is 3 hours away from Canberra and I haven't been since July and miss it more than ever. We have trying to find many people to attend us on this trip to the temple:)
We are working with this amazing less active, Sonia. She is so sweet! She has been smoking for 30 years and is in a really bad habit, obviously. She really really wants to go to the temple but it is so hard for her to stop and has tried many times before. We went through the LDS 15 steps to stop smoking with her and got her all the supplies she needs. We have been watching the 12 step to addiction recovery videos on lds.org and going through all of those steps with her. In a week and a half she has only had 1 cigarette and we are so happy! We will never be perfect but it is major change!! Her prayers have been so so special this week- they are so real and sometimes she giggles and it makes me so happy!!! She said, "Thank you for sending the sisters, saving the day once again..." or " Im thankful for the videos the sisters showed today...one of them really spoke to me. I wanted to ask forgiveness for doing this to my body...but it is my body I suppose.." *laughs. She is so cute! We are so proud of her. We hope to get her to stop smoking and to the temple in December.
Zoe has been out of contact with us and mentioned a couple things and my companion and I think she watched or some friends showed her anti Mormon things...so sad. She was so good:( We will keep trying.
I spoke in sacrament meeting yesterday and it was SO cool. In both wards, it was a missionary- based sacrament meeting where only full-time and ward missionaries participated. The spirit was so strong and many people said they want to be more active and share the gospel with others. We had a table set out with Books of Mormon, pamphlets and pass along cards and many people took them yes! Picture below.
I spoke on the ONE thing I hope to help people to learn when I teach them. The answer is: I want them to know that they have a REAL Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ who love them SO much. ...if I don't do anything else, I hope that I would stand as His representative and help people to know of their real and genuine love! It is real and it is eternal.
Ponderizing scripture of the week: 3 Nephi 12:14-16..."Verily, verily, I say unto you, I give unto you to be the light of this people. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Behold, do men light a candle and put it under a bushel? Nay, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light to all that are in the house; Therefore let your light so shine before this people, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
We ALL have a light!!! We are only 15 million throughout the world (and we have the highest missionary force, amazing)...but I learned something this week...a little bit of yeast (us) can makes the whole batch rise (the world). You cant be just 2 steps above the rest of the world because we are on an escalade and it is going down...down to outer darkness. So just as the world will eventually hit the bottom...2 steps, later WE WILL TOO. Stand at the top of the escalator and let your light shine. We are better than the world. 🎶"Oh Babylon oh Babylon we bid thee farewell"...be the Zion in the midst of Babylon.
P.s. Haloween in Australia is lame...no one does anything..
P.s.s.. Its mango season! You know what that means? I will turn into a mango haha.
