The past couple of weeks have been so much fun! My last few days at the MTC were honestly so amazing. I was able to visit Temple Square for a day which is where I'll be serving after I get my visa and I was able to experience what it's like to serve in a visitors center. It was probably one of my favourite parts of the four weeks I was in the MTC. We left super early in the morning and took a bus to a train station that dropped us off in salt Lake City, from the train we took a trolley to temple square. Once we arrived we were greeted by a group of sisters currently serving on the square, we met the mission president and then we were split up from our current companionship and placed with a sister from Temple Square. I was placed with Sister Broadbent who is from the USA. I can't remember what state but I know it starts with an M... After we were paired together we planned out our day, Sister Broadbent decided to focus our day on things I was least comfortable with so away we went to the phones. We picked up an hour shift in guest services where people could call in if they had questions about any activities on the square of if someone missed their scheduled tour the sisters in charge would ask us to try and get ahold of them. As boring as this sounds I actually LOVED it so much. When people called I was able to help them with whatever they needed and while we were waiting for calls I could get to know my companion a little better. The rest of the day we walked around the square and talked to visitors who were walking by or standing around, we also talked to people in the visitors center and shared scriptures and little presentations with them that you can find in the visitors center. It was really cool to learn how my companion tackles approaching strangers and how it's really not as hard as it looks. When the day was over we said goodbye to our companions and made our way back to the MTC.

Monday I woke up super early to fly out to Vancouver, I met my two companions sister Fox from provo and sister Leapaga from Samoa. They're both super fun and Sister Leapaga taught me how to say hello in samoan (Talofa) and she also taught me how they dance in her home country. It was so much fun.

This week we had the opportunity to help out this lady cook chilly for a crazy amount of people. All we did was open cans and organize the cans into separate recipes and then set up tables and chairs but it was really amazing to be able to see how grateful she was for our help even if it seemed like something so small. She said that as soon as we walked into the doors to help, her stress was gone. She thanked us so many times and then invited us to come over to her home for dinner because she loves to cook. It was probably one of my favourite parts of this week.

Saturday my companion accidentally took a wrong turn and we ended up on the highway, I had apparently fallen asleep a while before this happened because I woke up twenty minutes later and we were in the middle of nowhere. I asked my companions where we were and they told me we had gotten lost so I decided to use this perfect opportunity to continue my nap. This week has been absolutely amazing and so much hard work. We study for at least four hours every day and then are either teaching lessons or doing service for the rest of the day. Its exhausting but so fulfilling, I absolutely love it here.

Love,
Sister Murphy
