Panthers may fail me but the gospel won't!

Hey family!

Good to hear from y'all!

This week was great for us! We were able to find 5 new investigators. They are some great people. President James has wanted us to try really hard to start teaching entire families, because normally just the women like to take the lessons. We were able to invite our 2 referrals husbands to join in on the first lesson and it went really well both times! One of the most important parts of missionary work is getting to know people and listening to them. You never know how amazing someone is if you don't ask and listen! And people are truly amazing! When you become friends with your investigators things just go a lot smoother. We were able to teach the message of the Restoration and both the wives and the husbands were involved and shared questions they had, which we were able to answer!! Best feeling ever.

On Saturday during personal study I was reading in 1 Nephi chapter 5 and I think the Spirit was teaching me a little more about family history. I just dove into the scriptures and learned a ton! It was awesome! I had the impression that I needed to share this with a less active lady we are teaching and her son who are coming back to church and making great progress. That night we read parts of 1 Nephi together, I was able to share my testimony of family history, Sister Weaver (who was a FH consultant before the mission) bore sweet testimony as well, and we created a family search account for Sister Phillips. I was more hesitant to as Cordel (her 19 year old son) if he wanted us to set his account up too, (because kids our age sometimes think it's weird....) but before I thought too much about it he said " Can I make one of those too? This is really cool!" I was like "YES SIR!" Why did I even doubt?! haha Gotta be confident in the Spirit. That Sunday they both came to church! Cordel had bought a new suit jacket just for church and they stayed for all 3 hours and participated a lot! Every testimony that was shared seemed to be about family history and temples. It was AMAZING!!!!! Best experience ever.

One of my favorite people here in Hope Mills,(the sister who we spent Christmas with) shared a sweet testimony on Sunday. I could not tell her story again because I do not know the details, but through her tears she talked about her brother who is struggling with his testimony of the gospel, and how desperately she wants him to be happy and confident in the gospel again. It broke my heart. As I read about Nephi again this morning I realized that is the same feeling he felt as he watched his older brothers doubt the miracles they had seen and leave the truth they once knew.

I just have a testimony that life is stinkin' hard! Faith is a hard choice to make often times. Love, belief, and obedience are sometimes super challenging! But I know you can do it. Life was not meant to be easy. That is why we have the church; To help each other on this path back home to our Father in Heaven. The foundation of Christ's church is founded on Prophets and Apostles, and those special keys have been restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. We have them today! How amazing is that?! We have access to those blessings, we know who we are and where we are going, we know God is our loving Heavenly Father, we know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that all things are possible through Him. I know it!!! That is why I am here. I am here to tell everyone here in the NCRM that God is our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ is our Savior, and that His gospel has been restored to it's fullness today. What a glorious message it is. Be obedient. Serve others. Remember who you are! Be confident in the blessings of the Lord. YOU GOT THIS!!!!!! Miracles happen!

I love you!!!! I love the gospel! I love North Carolina! (And yes I love the Panthers even though they lost!)
