Sixth Area Bathgate, Scotland

Sister Ashdown

"Perhaps Faith isn't Faith Until it Has Been Tried"

So they kicked me off earlier so we came back later to finish out time....

So ya...Wednesday I got to Bathgate. I really do love it here. It is cute and small. It is pretty close to both Edinburgh and Glasgow. I see signs for Glasgow all the time. I am so excited to work here. It is really wierd to not be in a bigger city after my two last areas. It isn't tiny here but just the busses and stuff run differently so I am going to have to learn fast. Yes I am on my 6th area and 11th companion. So crazy! But I love it here and I love Sister Ashdown. She is great! Her family is currently living in Billings, Montana! We are really similar though! This is her last transfer so I will be "killing" her off. We are working super hard though and having a ton of fun. We have some really neat people that we are working with and I am really excited to work with this ward. <-------(from last week) sorry the kicked me off again

So this week the Lord has taught me a huge lesson on prayer. There has just been so much insane and crazy stuff going on here. Like really you wouldn't believe. A lot of people really needing us and especially jsut really needing the gospel right now. And it just seemed like everything was falling apart esecially Friday-Monday. I think everyone in Bathgate/Livingston area had a breakdown and we were much needed. Our phone was going off the hook and it was just so stressful. I honestly didn't know how to handle everything. All I could do was offer some simple prayers in desperation and need because I myself was about to have a break down. And literally everyone of those prayers were answered so specifically. Like so specifically. I know that Heavenly Father Knows us so perfectly and He hears and answers prayers. Then Yesterday I finished 2 Nephi and was so uplifted by Nephi's words. I feel like esecially right now me and Sister Ashdown can relate to what he said. (2 Nephi 33:3-4) 3 But I, Nephi, have written what I have written, and I esteem it as of great worth and especially unto my people. For I pray continually for them by day and mine eyes water my pillow by night, because of them; and I cry unto my God in faith, and I know that he will hear my cry. 4 And I know that the Lord God will consecrate my prayers for the gain of my people. And the words which I have written in weakness will be made strong unto them; for it persuadeth them to do good; it maketh known unto them of their fathers; and it speaketh of Jesus, and persuadeth them to believe in him, and to endure to the end, which is life eternal.
It really helped me and reminded me of the why. Why do we exerience hardship? Why do we keep going? Why do we share the gospel? BECAUSE it is what leads to life Eternal. Life with our Father in Heaven and Savior, Jesus Christ. Life with our families forever. I know so strongly that this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It brings healing and peace. It brings strength, power and endurance. I am grateful for it and the opportunity I have to live and share it. I am Sister Moore and I am a disciple of Christ. I will follow Him and I will try my best to help everyone to do the same.

I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!

Love, Sister Moore
