The Week of Visitors

Hey everyone!

Hope you all had a great week. This week we had visitors in our house almost every night because our house is the closest house to the office, so we always get people in our house when they either need to go to Santo Domingo or they need to go to a new area. It was fun haha! Also today we got to see Hermana Shaw! It has been such a long time!! We were so happy to see her and her comp Hermana Muñoz!

This week I don't have very many experiences to share, but there is one really cool experience that happened. We have an investigator named Maria. She was not progressing at all so we dropped her for a week and then on Sunday she came to church and surprised us. She had read from the Book of Mormon and has seen a HUGE change in her life because of it. She has shown us just how much she loves this gospel. We had fought so much with her to get that testimony, but she just had to have the desire to change. I learned that we needed to have more charity and patience with her and she changed completely! Also, we have another investigator named Luisa and she just has the strongest desire to get baptized.

This week I was really struggling with my faith so I turned to the scriptures and found some really awesome things! It was just like Heavenly Father was speaking to me. They are in Mosiah 7:19 and 33

19 Therefore, lift up your heads, and rejoice, and put your trust in God, in that God who was the God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob; and also, that God who brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, and caused that they should walk through the Red Sea on dry ground, and fed them with manna that they might not perish in the wilderness; and many more things did he do for them.
33 But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage.

And a quote from Elder Suares:
"God blesses us according to our faith. Faith is the source of living with divine purpose and eternal perspective. Faith is a practical principle that inspires diligence. It is a vital, living force manifest in our positive attitude and desire to willingly do everything God and Jesus Christ ask us of us. It takes us to our knees to implore the Lord for guidance and to arise and act with confidence to achieve things consistent with His will. If we are steadfast and do not waver in our faith, the Lord will increase our capacity to raise ourselves above the challenges of life. We will be enabled to subdue negative impulse's, and we will develop the capacity to overcome even what may appear to be overwhelming obstacles... place all of your trust in God. Serve Him with all of your heart. By the power of your unwavering faith in Christ, you will become free of the captivity of sin, of doubt, of unbelief, of unhappiness, of suffering, and you will receive all of the promised blessings from our loving Heavenly Father.

These all work together and I LOVE it!
When I was reading verse 33, "I thought what is my bondage? How can I overcome it?" It gives us the direct answer... Trust in the Lord with our full heart and serve Him in diligence and He will deliver us out of our bondages. What a GREAT promise!! Also with the quote I love how faith is something so small but we take it for granted sometimes. We have to have a positive attitude and desire to do what HE wants us to do. We have to go to Him for guidance. Without His guidance, we can´t do anything! Love this part, "If we are steadfast and do not waver in our faith, the Lord will increase our capacity to raise ourselves above the challenges of life. We will be enabled to subdue negative impulses, and we will develop the capacity to overcome even what may appear to be overwhelming obstacles... place all of your trust in God. Serve Him with all of your heart."

Hope you all have a great week and love you all!

Pics- us eating ice cream on my 100 day left mark, us with a family that we were teaching that is going back to their country, us with Hermana Shaw, and I surprised Hermana Shaw with a birthday cake for her birthday that is in October haha.
