Hermana Levy

New adventures

Hey everyone!

I bet you all guessed it, but I got transferred to Nibaje in Santiago! Finally I am in Santiago, haha. I am with Hermana Levy from Jamaica. Sorry that I don´t have pics with her this week, but we´ll see some next week. Anyway, she is new in the mission and I have to finish her training. I am SUPER tired and it has been a little stressful because we both don´t know the area, but we are trusting in Heavenly Father and the members to help us out!

Nibaje is VERY different from Esperanza. I feel like it is more like America here. When you say hi, the people don´t respond back to you. They don´t let you in their houses either, but we are still really hopeful that there are people ready for this gospel.

Good news is that we are going to have a baptism next week! Her name is Glenny. She is 22 and her boyfriend is a member. She is SO excited to get baptized and actually is converted to the gospel. We are also going to have another baptism within this month. His name is Vladimir and he had a smoking marijuana addiction and he has stopped it for 45 days. Yesterday he told us that he just wants to get baptized now and can feel the difference in his life.

As usual Heavenly Father spoke to me through my studies this week and I related to Nephi. In 1 Nephi 4:6 it says, ¨And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do.¨ When I read that, it was an answer to my prayers. I had NO idea how I was going to finish training, learn an area, and help teach Spanish to my companion, but I was comforted knowing that as long as I am led by the Spirit and trust in my Father in Heaven, I can do ANYTHING. I don´t always have to know what´s going on because my Father in Heaven already knows and has a plan.

A quote that I found this week said, ¨We are surrounded by opportunities. God wants us to bring to pass His work and that we do it with energy and happiness.¨ I think that is going to be my theme this week. We all need to look for opportunities to bring to pass God´s work. When we do it, we need to do it with ENERGY and HAPPINESS. As I am rapidly close to finishing my mission, I have learned that when we do the Lord´s work with energy and happiness, it is easier. We will be filled with more purpose and will find out who we are.

I love you all and have a great week,
Hermana Maikoski

I attached pics of the Guzman Family- members, Luly and Milagros- members that are like my family, Hna. Maxfield and I at a cafeteria, and a pic that Hermana Levy took of me by a really cool mural in the street.
