Are you looking for someone to marry?

Hey everyone!
This week was another one of those weeks where everything didn´t work out the way we wanted it to, but Heavenly Father has a grand plan!

Something really funny that happened this week was when we were contacting in the rain and this really nice man let us into his patio. We started to talk to him and I asked him about his family. I actually learned a lot about his family and how his wife had died a couple of years back. He bought us crackers and some juice. Soon in the conversation he was like, ¨Are you looking for someone to marry?¨ I was like, ¨No, I am a missionary right now and I´m not looking. He just started telling me about his 22 year old son that wants to get married and how he is a good man. Then he started talking about how we would have cute kids because his son is tall and I am short. I worked my way out of the situation by talking about the gospel and we left a pamphlet with him. As we were leaving though he was like, ¨Will we be having a wedding soon?¨ I just laughed so hard and we walked on our way.

Anyway, Omar, our investigator that had a baptism date, didn´t come to church this week so he can´t be baptized. We are pretty sure he´ll be baptized soon, but everything happens in the Lord´s time. He is really stressing me out though. hahah. We had a training meeting this week and it was awesome. I loved one thing that we heard and it was, ¨Speak of Him, Speak to Him, and He will speak to the Father for us.¨ That is so true and then they compared the doctrine of Christ to the missionary´s purpose. We are supposed to invite and help other people to come unto Christ as members of the church through faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and by enduring to the end.

Another thing that I learned this week was that Heavenly Father answers our prayers. We were going to be late to our meeting on Friday, but I was praying in my heart that we would be able to make it. WE DID! Also I prayed for little things allllll through the week and my prayers were answered too! It made me think of the scripture in Enos chapter 1 verses 12 and 15 that say, ¨And it came to pass that AFTER I had prayed and labored with all diligence, the Lord said unto me- I will grant unto thee according to thy desires, because of thy faith... Wherefore, I knowing that the Lord God was able to preserve our records, I cried unto Him continually for He had said unto me, ¨Whatsoever thing ye shall ask in faith, believing that ye shall receive in the name of Christ, ye shall receive it.¨
As we were contacting and getting rejected all week, the Lord blessed us with ONE person that was ready for our message. She wants to get married to her boyfriend and be baptized. Some of her family is members. We felt the spirit so strong with her. I had prayed with faith and had faith that Heavenly Father would keep His promise to me, but in His own time. We too can do the same. We should have the faith that He will answer our prayers even during the hard times. Heavenly Father knows everything.

I love you all and have a great week,
Hermana Maikoski

I attached pictures of all the trainers and their trainees, a reminder that I found in the street to love yourself, and a picture of some of the people I hadn´t seen in a while from my first zone in La Vega - Hnas Nasimiento, Palmer, and Yanes.
