Hermana Wasden

I'm getting old!!

Hey guys!

Let me explain my subject... so today we were eating at a member's house and Hermana Wasden looks at my hair and she saw 3 grey hairs! Holy cow! My mission is giving me so much stress that I'm aging haha. It's a good kind of stress though. I just thought that was kind of funny :) Also I attached pictures with Hermana Wasden and I eating Yogenfruz (frozen yogurt), near a river near our house that we just found, and a picture of the river.

So this transfer we have been doing a lot of contacting and everyone of you knows that I absolutely HATE going outside of my comfort zone to talk to other people, but Heavenly Father has really helped me. He has given me that power AND strength to do hard things. I have had no fear to talk to these people. Also, I have learned that what I have to say is important and that I need to just open my mouth and listen to the promptings of the Spirit.

A member shared a scripture in Matthew that talks about when Jesus came and the people put palm leaves on the ground and they shouted, "Hosanna! Hosanna!" Then she shared her thoughts, but I wanted to share this scripture that's in Mosiah 24:14-15. It says,
"14 And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.
15 And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord."

Anyway, so the member told us that Hosanna means "save us". Then I thought in the scripture in Mosiah. We really need our Savior in our lives. He is the only one that saves us from everything. Then in Mosiah it talks about how the Atonement is what strengthened the people so that they could overcome EVERYTHING. All of their difficulties, problems, addictions, all the loads that they feel on their backs. That Heavenly Father didn't just take away all their pains, but He gave them the STRENGTH to overcome them and only that strength comes through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I love that thought and it has brought a whole new light to the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that if we really want the help and if we ask for it, that our Savior will be there for us to help lift us higher. He will ease the burdens that are on our backs. I have felt that on my mission and I have felt His love. I encourage you all to try and focus on the Savior and how He can help you overcome anything. This will bring you more joy than anything else in the world. I know with all of my heart that these things are true.

I love you all and hope you have a great week,

Hermana Maikoski
