The Holy Ghost is our Constant Guide

Hey everyone!

So this week was a great one. On Tuesday I had a little bit of a rough time, but I learned a really good lesson. My district leader had asked me to give my testimony of how the Restoration has blessed my family. I wrote down notes because I am still not perfect in my Spanish yet and my district leader took my notes in the middle of my testimony! I started crying, but I pushed through it. After, he wrote something in my planner. He wrote, ¨Focus on the spirit and the words will come.¨ This helped me for the rest of the week. That same day we had intercambios aka splits. I went with Hermana Bischoff. Sorry I don´t have pics, but it was a great experience. We taught someone how to read and we had a lady that knew a lot about the Mormon church. We asked her why she hadn´t been baptized and she said that she hadn´t gotten a definitive answer that our church was true and I got the impression to ask if she had read the B.O.M. and she said she had only read a little bit. I testified that she wouldn´t get her answer unless she knew the Book of Mormon was true or not. Also, we taught a really cool lesson about the Restoration and when I said the First Vision, I could see the Spirit speaking to their souls. We were going to drop a family but we felt like we shouldn´t and now the wife is reading the Book of Mormon and praying. She wasn´t doing that before and now she says she knows she is on the right path and she will be baptized when she knows for sure our church is true. I really learned then that if I rely on the Spirit, it will touch the hearts of the people. Heavenly Father knows these people better than I do.

Update on Irkania!!! We had a lunch with her on Wednesday and had a lot of fun. Her son took out a costume from carnivals they have here and he danced in it. It totally freaked me out. I attached a picture and we have a video too. Anyway, that day we set a baptism date for September 10th. She is now getting her papers today so that she can be legally married to her husband! Now her husband needs to sit in on the lessons and we are so set. I am so excited for Irkania! Also this week we contacted 21 new people. Another side note, we have an investigator that said something I absolutely love, ¨The Book of Mormon makes everything in the Bible more clear.¨ That is sooo true!

I want to share two scriptures- The first is in Doctrine and Covenants chapter 68 verses 3-6
3 And this is the ensample unto them, that they shall speak as they are moved upon by the Holy Ghost.
4 And whatsoever they shall speak when moved upon by the Holy Ghost shall be scripture, shall be the will of the Lord, shall be the mind of the Lord, shall be the word of the Lord, shall be the voice of the Lord, and the power of God unto salvation.
5 Behold, this is the promise of the Lord unto you, O ye my servants.
6 Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come.

My district leader shared this with me and it brought me a lot of peace. I know that the Lord will work through us if we follow the Spirit. Missionaries have the power of the Lord with us and I can see it every day.

The next is in 3 Nephi chapter 33 verse 1:
1 And now I, Nephi, cannot write all the things which were taught among my people; neither am I mighty in writing, like unto speaking; for when a man speaketh by the power of the Holy Ghost the power of the Holy Ghost carrieth it unto the hearts of the children of men.

This scripture goes along with what I said about the Spirit. Heavenly Father knows the hearts of everyone and will use the Spirit to speak to the people. We need to be worthy and listen to the Spirit. I love you all! Have a great week!
