I had another fun interesting busy week at the PCC. We are still getting ready for the Christmas lagoon on Friday. Looks like from all the preparation that it will be a lot of fun. I am so looking forward to being able to see it and participate in it.
On Wednesday we went to Kaneohe to purchase the little car that I am buying from my roommate Brenda who is returning home to Anthem Arizona.
On Saturday I took my other roommate Connie and we traveled back to Kaneohe to see the Buddhist temple at a place they call valley of the temples. It is set up against the 2000 foot Mountains in Ko'olau Valley and has beautiful foliage all around. It was a very beautiful peaceful place. To see the Statue of the Buddhist you have to take your shoes off. There is also a huge Bell that you can pull the string and hear the low deep gong that it makes. There is a large pond which has more Koi fish than I think I've ever seen in one place. It is in front of the temple down the side and even around the back. There is also a beautiful peacock and two beautiful Black Swan that were very tame and pose so well for pictures. We then went on into the town of Kaneohe to shop at the mall have lunch and then on to Ross to buy some clothes for a couple of little students who are moving back to Mongolia and need some warm clothing for the winter. So a bunch of the sister missionaries pitched and we went to buy some clothes for them. He is the sweetest young man and he is one of the head people who run the prime dining where we eat when we take tickets for the buffets. Most of the students here are very poor.
Last night we got a new roommate because Brenda will be leaving on Tuesday. Her name is Mary Ingram and she has been living in North Ogden for the last year. She moved there from Seattle area. She seems to be a very nice sweet lady and we are happy to have her here. That is about all the news for the week. This coming week will be more fun with the decorating for the Christmas lagoon. We will be putting garland on all of the bridges where we have hung the wreaths.
Side note, I got my first letter from my cute grandson Cameron who has arrived in the mission field and it was so fun to hear of the new experiences that he is having.
