One of the single sister missionaries that is serving here in Hawaii with us has set up a sewing center where the students can come and get pants hemmed, seams sewn, dresses lengthened, etc. Just an all around alterations place. She has borrowed the sewing machines from the ward buildings which are not being used, and has a room set up at the cannon center. Sister missionaries who sew volunteer to come and help with the project. I went last night and tonight and helped. The students are so cute, and they are literally from all over the place. I helped two little Korean girls tonight one needed their pants made into shorts, and the other one had two pair of pants that were too long so we cut them off, and she hemmed them up. She was so excited. They are fun to watch. Then I helped a boy from Samoa whose hem had com out of his Sunday Pants, so we put it back in for him. Just a really fun experience to go there and meet the students.
We are getting organized and ready to decorate the PCC for Christmas. We are going through all the lights and checking to make sure they work before we hang them on the bridges. I am getting excited to see what the place looks like at nighttime all decorated for Christmas. Hopefully I can get some good pictures. I have been making angels to decorate the Christmas Tree at the Mission Settlement, We also made some little cute shell ornaments to hang on the tree. It looks very nice
I'm kind of tired tonight, so I will sign off, and get to sleep. I usually wake up at 5:00 when the roosters start to crow and the bus comes by. I also live very close to the main road that goes through the town, the bus stop is right at the end of our street. I am pretty much getting used to the noise. I am loving the experiences that I am having. I am missing all my family and friends. I lose two of my roommates in December, one the 10th and the other one on the 17th. I am really going to miss them. But, new sisters are coming to take their place, so I will have two new ones. All is well, and life is good.
