Ahhh... Yeah. It was a weird week for us. We've still not found someone to teach and we've faced a lot of rejection. It's been hard, but we will keep moving forward.
Maxine is such a blessing, though. This week, she asked a lot of questions and we gave an overview of the restoration, and the spirit was definitely there. She just doesn't count as an investigator because we don't usually teach her when we go over, we just do service. She tells us every day that she will never be a Mormon, that she believes anyone can become the Christ, and that there is no way she could ever join a religion. Which is great and all, it's just hard when the only person who will let you into their home is 93 and has already decided all that. But anyway, I love her more than I could explain and she has stolen my heart. The other day we were sitting on the couch after we had vacuumed her huge house, and she grabbed my hand with tear filled eyes and her voice cracked and she said, "You better not leave me." and it was sweet. We talked to her about how we were really struggling finding people to teach and she said, "Well, God can't say no to me! I'll get on my knees with you tonight at 10:30 and I'll pray for you to find someone to teach." and we were like YOOO MAXINE IT'S YOU GIRL. But she is so sweet. She tells us every day that we need to have more faith. She is right.
It's getting hot here AND I HATE IT. I WOULD TAKE FREEZING WINTERS OVER THIS SWEATY GARBAGE any day:)
Check out the end of verse Alma 19:17. "She ran forth" or something like that. I underlined that in the scriptures. Hey that's me! This is what I want to do!
"17. Thus, having been converted to the Lord, and never having made it known, therefore, when she saw that all the servants of Lamoni had fallen to the earth, and also her mistress, the queen, and the king, and Ammon lay prostrate upon the earth, she knew that it was the power of God; and supposing that this opportunity, by making known unto the people what had happened among them, that by beholding this scene it would cause them to believe in the power of God, therefore she ran forth from house to house, making it known unto the people."
I went to Young women's with the ward this week, we were Easter caroling to non members. It's crazy for me to see how much the belief that you are a daughter of God will change how you act. It's so important. The girls who believe that they are daughters of God carry themselves different. you can physically see it and it blows me away. So important to remember.
My thoughts on Daylight savings, in the words of dear ELder Bunker: "Only White man takes inch off top of blanket and puts on bottom to make blanket longer." hahahahha good ol' Elder Bunker.
LOVE YOU ALL! Jesus is the Christ and The Shepard. Let us love Him!
