Area

Frederick, MD

Companion

Sister Bartschi

Hey there!

AHH! It was such a good week. I love my area so much. The members here are phenomenal. We ate dinner with the McClatchie family this week. They are all so righteous and beautiful and their mom LOVES musical theatre so her and I formed a bond almost immediately. Her name is Starr and she's wonderful. I love her because she reminds me of you. Sassy and a good cook and a brilliant countenance of the Savior. She also loves Anne of Green Gables and says I remind her of Anne. idk why. But When we left her home (after staying too long because we had so much fun talking) she just gave me the sweetest hug and said "Our little Anne of Green Gables. you better be over here for Christmas." And I just felt so loved and at home in that moment. It's not just her, either. The members of this ward are going to be so so so so hard to leave, and every night I PRAY I don't get transferred because I want to spend my Christmas somewhere that feels like home.

Speaking of things that make me feel at home, every time I hear Jeffery R Holland speak it just brings me so much peace. HE is our family's apostle and every time I hear him I just close my eyes and I could be sitting in our beautiful home, on the couch right next to you and dad and Alec. I love that.

HAHHAHA Okay. I love my companion. So much. SO MUCH. We have so much fun and we get along SO WELL. We just laugh. All the time. We've already decided that we are going to hang out after the mish and we already have a list of stuff we are going to do. She is just the best and she is so nice to me. She has the same sense of humor as I do and she is very smart and she loves it when I sing. Which makes me happy. she wants me to sing at her wedding lol.

Our investigator Beverly is doing SO good. We had a lesson with her on Thursday night, and we invited her to say the closing prayer and the spirit was so so so so strong. It was amazing and I was so happy because I am helping someone feel the Love of God. what is better than the Pure love of Christ????????????? Answer: Nothing. in the prayer, she said "I am so glad you sent these two girls to me. and that they found me. Please bless their moms while they are here with me." And my heart just burst. She is the most precious lady and I love her. I can't wait to see her in white. I have a picture of her with us that I'll send you in a bit. We were praying really really hard for her the other morning, trying to decide what she needed to hear next. And as soon as I got off my knees, I just reached over to my blue folder filled with conference talks and I pull out the one about the Atonement by Jeffery R Holland given at the MTC. and I flipped to page four and right THERE was our answer. It very plainly told us there is no way these investigators will change unless they come to a knowledge of the Savior and His infinite Atonement. I felt a peace wash over me and I said, "We need to teach her the plan of salvation." Sister Bartschi smiled and said "You're right." It was way cool. We are going to teach her tonight, so wish us luck. :)

We had Zone conference this week, where president talks to us and we do some training. It was the most motivational thing ever. I was so ready to go out and do God's work. He showed us some pretty cool stats too, He told us that the Maryland Baltimore Mission is the MOST EFFICENT mission in the world. IN THE WORLD. As far as the number of investigators compared to the number actually baptized. Isn't that amazing?? The Lord is hastening the work like CRAZY in this place and I get to be a soldier in that army. It's breathtaking.

I am having thanksgiving with the Okana family - they are this really strong, active family from Africa and they are the coolest. I will be fed well and I will be happy so don't you worry about me. :)

Sis Bartschi and I were walking through a nursing home and Catching Fire was playing on the TV and we shielded our eyes even though we really didn't want to. you know what I miss the most? besides Family and friends and home?? MOVIES. Random, right? But I miss movies so much!!
Anyway, I love you all so much. I am so happy!
Love, Sister Savy Sanborn
