This week has been a ton of fun. its been raining a lot but we've seen lots of miracles. We met someone that we texted while we were cleaning up our areabook named Mubarck. He said that this was the 3rd time he had met missionaries and recieved a copy of the Book of Mormon. He said that he thinks God is trying to tell him something
Sister Stalker and I got Cannoli from a bakery by the church. They were really good.
We play basketball every week on Wednesday with kids from the ward. I've actually really been enjoying it.
Elder Christiansen and I found out that we're 10th cousins. So as we were leaving the other day he said "Bye Cous" I think were going to be buds after the mission.
Saturday was the biggest miracle though. We had finished all of our appointments for that day and were waiting for the bus when this guy literally rain across the street straight to us and asks, "What are you selling?" We tell him that we weren't selling anything and he says, "I don't know why but I felt like I really needed to talk to you guys" Well we know a prompting from the Spirit when we see one, so we told him that we are missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he started tearing up. He asked if we had 5 minutes to talk. We of course said yes. He then started telling us about all these hard 5hings that hes gone through in his life, and about how he's felt really guilty about the mistakes he's made.
We started explaining the Atonement of Jesus Christ to him. We had him read Ether 12:27 which reads
"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them"
And he started crying. We gave him the Book of Mormon and invited him to meet with us again.
More than anything this experience has truly solidified my testimony that God is truly preparing people for us to find, or for them to find us. I'm so grateful that Heavenly Father placed us there at that time.
I'm so grateful for the opportunity that I have to participate in this great work. I am grateful for the knowledge I have of the Savior. I know that he lives.
Love you all , to the moon and back,
Sister Sara Loertscher
