Holy cow holy cow this week went by so fast I can't believe it it went by so fast yet so slow at the same time, if that makes any sense.
Okay, so we arrived at the CCM (Perú MTV) at 4:00 a.m. last Wednesday. Haha muy cansados. I'm in a trio which is really fun but also really hard. It is me, Hermana Sanders from Utah y Hermana Knowles from Seattle - she's the sister I met on Facebook going to my same mission! We are the only two people here going to Lima Norte that I know of. When we first got here, we met the CCM president and the Branch presidency right away. Sister Nora Johnson's sister and her husband being here has been the biggest blessing.Honestly. Every time I see her and I even feel a little homesick, those thoughts go away because is like a little bit from home here. She takes care of me and I love her so much. Plz tell sis Johnson that. I struggled w homesickness so much at first. Like I would cry every single night because I was so scared that something would happen to you guys. I prayed to Heavenly Father for comfort that it would get better, and I felt the prompting to go talk to the CCM president about it and get guidance. I put it off, then the next day he came up to me and asked to talk to me and he knew exactly what i was going through. Anyways it's better now!
The food here is realllllly good. We have a lot of rice y strange meats hahaha. Strange things we ate - we had granadilla (LOOK UP A PIC) and it's so weird hahaha but it's not that bad. We also had chicha morada which is a purple corn drink; it wasn't my fave lol.
We are learning a lot of Spanish here, like mucho mucho lol. It's very dificil. Half the missionaries that are here are Latinos, and two of our roommates are Latinas so it helps to talk to them to learn the Spanish better.
I love my district, they are so awesome! Se have an investigator, Monica, her son has heart problems y we have taught her 3 lessons so far.
Since being here the Lord has answered all my prayers. The Lord really does know each and every one of us. Also it is so crazy how much stuff you can get done in a day when you are not always distracted by technology!!! haha.
OH GUESS WHAT!! Elder Stevenson came to the CCM on Saturday!!! It was so amazing. He is such a great public speaker. Hhe talked about the work and advice to help investigators in the church. Sundays in the CCCM are the best day ever! Seriously I cried every hour, it was so filled with the spirit. Sunday meetings are all in English, so that made the spirit speak to me even more clearly.
On Sunday nights and Tuesday nights we watch devotionals that were recorded from the Provo MTC, they are so amazing! Elder Holland gave one I think 3 weeks ago directed to missionaries and oh my heavens it was so amazing!!!
We went to the Lima Temple today, and it was so pretty. We did a session in Spanish and spoke Spanish at the veil - it was so cool! My mission president's son was the worker at the recommend desk and in the distribution center, and I met 4 missionaries currently serving in my mision!
Okay funny story - this week a sister in my district gave a lesson to her investigator and she never took any Spanish in HS. She meant to say "My family brings me happiness," but she said "My family is my feliz navidad." It was so funny!
Anyways, okay, I love you all and I hope you have a great week! Sorry I didn't get to respond to everyone's email, we only have like 45 mins.
