We’re going to see Elvis in heaven

Helloooo! I have been so busy this week but it has been really good! Being out in the field is a different experience it makes you realize your strengths, weaknesses, what you like, what you don't like as much. However I know it's for my good and it will work out in the long run.

Speaking of long run, Sister Joyner and I go on runs throughout the week. One day I told myself I was going to run the 3 miles with no stops in between. Towards the end I was getting really tired. I thought to myself maybe I'll stop and walk for a little bit. Right when I thought that I looked up at a sign that said in bold letters, NOPE. I then was like ok I guess I will keep running. I ended up running the entire time until I got back to my apartment. I'm not sure why I saw that sign at the time I did. I don't know if it was to protect me from someone or something. But something that came to my mind later thay day was that their are moments when we want to stop but in that moment I know heavenly father was tells us to keep going. Even when we are tired, out of breath, legs are done. He helps us realize we can do harder things even when we don't think we can.

We have been visiting our friend Teresa. Who is like my grandma here in Utah hahah. She really gave us so much stuff to make cookies and the cutest nativity set for our apartment. Teresa is also my favorite because she has an OBSESSION WITH ELVIS PRESLEY. We helped her decorate her house for Christmas and I'm pretty sure I put up more singing Elvis Christmas decoration than Jesus hahaha. But that's ok because in the end Jesus is still her focus. She told us she wants to start the lessons so we are so excited for that! Best quote she said, "I know Elvis is waiting for me in heaven and he can't wait to see me!" Teresa is my all time favorite person, she really has so much love for other people... especially Elvis lol.

We got to go to another ward Christmas party and some of our friends which was great. I also got roped into singing because of my companion telling people. So I did a solo on my guitar to "stars were gleaming" I was soooo nervous but I'm so glad sister Joyner exposed me and made me do it lol. In the Christmas devotional Sister Craige challenged us to share our talents so I took the challenge by being forced to... thank you Sister Joyner much love for you

Best part of the week Elder Quentin L. Cook came to speak to us! All of our mission got together and listened to him. I have never felt the spirit so strong. He talked about how being a missionary is a once in a life time opportunity. That my mission will bless me and others I love in so many ways I don't understand. He reminded me of the quote, "Keep loving. Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever". I love being a missionary, sharing the light the gospel brings especially during the holidays is so amazing. People invite you in more which is the best. Reach out to everyone. Everyone needs a little more love this time of year. Christmas miracles do happen people!! Love you all have an amazing week!

Love,
Sister Haertling
