I am finally in Layton Utah! I left the MTC on Tuesday and have been here since! My companion is Sister Joyner and she is so GREAT! We cover the Layton Hill stake. I'm right next to the air force base so it is super loud with jets taking off all throughout the day! But it's actually so cool! Let me tell ya tho, the weather here really went from 60 degrees to like 30 degrees in like a day, it is SO COLD! I didn't think I would need my winter jacket this soon, but here I am wearing it 24/7. I met my mission president and his wife, they are the nicest people in the world and I am so grateful for their guidance they give me. Each transfer we have has their own name/meaning. And this Transfer is the "JOY" Transfer. And so we focus on spreading joy these next few weeks. And even in the hardest times we can still find bits of joy. I have found that to be a struggle sometimes. Adjusting to the mission life is not easy, and honestly most days I'm questioning what I'm doing out here but I know by finding joy in the simple things each day I'm coming closer to my savior and finding more joy in his work. Just like the scripture in Alma 37, "but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass".
Anyways 2 pretty cool miracles happened this week. A teenager named Tryston reached out to us and was like,"hey I want to get baptized, how can I do that?" Kinda crazy cause usually missionary work doesn't just fall in your hands like that. Miracles truly do happen everyday I'm tellin ya! Super pumped tho, we meet with him for the first time tomorrow so we will see how it goes! Another miracle was, this lady named Roberta was someone the sisters weren't able to get in contact with in the past. So Thursday we went and knocked on her door and she answered! We talked for a little bit and were able to set up a day for this week to come over and share a message. Then on Saturday we were walking by her house and she was outside doing yard work, and we helped her rake her front yard plus we shared a message! So we ended up seeing her twice this week which was SO GOOD!! Anyways this week has been good, there's always going to be ups and downs but I know this work we're doing is so important! Love you all hope you guys have a great Thanksgiving & week! Email me, I love to hear all your guys updates!!
