How are you all doing? I hope you are truly enjoying the cold weather over there for me. Yo, it has been SO HOT the past few days!! The way I can tell is because of the nice nice sunburns I have been getting everyday!! haha. But it's okay, I will go home as dark as possible. haha. People here are calling me a Yellowbone or a colored mixed race.
Also, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to my brother Keith!! Go give him a big hug for me! I hope you had fun celebrating!
This week was great!! We had Zone Conference and it was so powerful! It was my last Zone Conference so I bore my departing testimony with the other missionaries going home with me. Yo! It was so strange, but it was nice. The whole conference was all about the Book of Mormon and that is my favorite book so obviously, I loved it!! We talked a lot about how the Book of Mormon is key in someone experiencing conversion to the Savior Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. It is the evidence of the Restoration! And it is the most powerful book to help us draw nearer to God. It teaches us the gospel so simply and it shows us how to come closer to Christ. It is difficult for me to express how I feel about the Book of Mormon, but I know it is the word of God and I know that if we read it and follow what it teaches us to do, that we will have joy in our lives and be able to return to our Heavenly Home with our Father and our Savior Jesus Christ.
Amandah got baptized!!! Amandah's baptism went so well by the way. It was such a powerful turn out - one of the best I have ever seen on mission. I am so happy about that because she felt so loved and so supported in the choice she made to take upon herself the name of the Savior.
Yeah, so we have had a rat in our house the past 6 weeks... It has been chilling with us and it's super nasty. haha. But Brother Sibanda who helps the mission with a lot of random stuff, came over to help us out with the situation and he killed it. He stepped on him after he fell off the beam and crushed him dead. haha. He is the rat terminator! But at least that was taken care of before the next missionaries come to the house. They don't have to worry about another thing living with them. haha
This girl named Yenzile! Yo!! I felt prompted to go by her place so we went and she is struggling to accept the Book of Mormon. She told us about her love for the Bible and how much she relies on it, and I shared with her my testimony of the Book of Mormon and of the Savior Jesus Christ after reading Alma 26:11-12, 16. It was super powerful and we committed her to read the testimonies of Joseph Smith and the witnesses and the introduction and Moroni 10:3-5, 7. I know that anyone who sincerely reads and prays about the Book of Mormon will receive the answer that it is true. I love the Book of Mormon and I love that every time I read it, I feel God's love and I feel a greater desire to follow the Savior. The Book of Mormon brings me comfort and strength and invites personal revelation. IT IS TRUE!!!
Well, that's a wrap for the week! I love you all! Enjoy some fro-yo in my honor!
