And ladies and gents, thats all I`m talking to you about for this week.
On Saturday, we were asked by a member to attend our 9 year old investigators Undo Kai (pronunciation: `u` as in moon `do` as in (`but dat back flip dou`). Every school in Japan from Kindergarten to High School holds an Undo Kai in the fall. It`s like a mini olympics put on by the students. We had never been to one, so had no idea what to expect. It was 6 hours long. So while XinXin Chan`s mom had to go back to their restaurant, Wellard Shimai and I did some study and some weekly planning while watching little kids race and battle all day! We
actually ran into one of our less active friends there too!
We had a ping pong activity and then music night. There was a boy that Wellard Shimai and I met on the street outside of a gas station on Wednesday that came to ping pong. When we talked to him on Wednesday,
we invited him to baptism on the street and he said he really wanted to be baptized. He told us when he had time, he would just come to the church which he did! Then he met with their elders. As we talked about
Christ, his eyes lit up almost as if to say `I love this!!` He wasn’t able to stay for music night, but we had a great time with many of the members.
That night, Wellard Shimai and I had a long talk about our many weaknesses. We came to realize that my weaknesses are what are going to strengthen her weaknesses and her weaknesses are what are going to
strengthen my weaknesses.
I don't have any time. But last night at 8pm right before daily planning, we had a phone call from Ayano Shimai's boyfriend that we just started teaching. He said he wants to be baptized! Next week! We aren't sure how time will work, but miracles are real. After we talked with him about that, we talked with our Thai investigator and she told us how much she loves the Book of Mormon and how it always answers her questions! Long story short, we were on a phone call lesson with her up until 10:20pm and now she's going to get baptized too! And we got ready for in 10 minutes and were totally obedient!
This week was a testimony to me that when we finally drop the pride wall, realize we have weaknesses and ask the Lord for his help, THEN the miracles come.
I love you all.
We had a cockroach in our apt this week.
And we met a man with a frog purse.
