This week was wonderful and one of peaceful reminders and miracles! As a welcome gift to our new Mission President, we wanted to have every area in the whole mission with someone on date for baptism by the end of the month. So, Sister Scott and I were running down to two days left and we had nothing. We were getting a little discouraged because every lesson we had planned was cancelling on us and we weren't sure if we were going to achieve the goal. We talked about it and were like, "Okay, for the next two days we have to invite everyone we meet with to baptism." SO, being missionaries and all...still, out of our 6 appointments for the two days, all cancelled.. except one.. Devin! And, he brought up baptism himself and totally picked out a day! Yay, huh!! Heavenly Father totally blessed us with that miracle and we were able to achieve the mission goal.
Also, we got to meet President and Sister Dunnigan on Monday.. and man oh man. They are amazing. I am SO excited to get to work with them. I love them so much. It was so special to get the spiritual confirmation that I need them here and have much to learn from them.
Things are going great. I am so happy. God is so good.
This week, I have been touched by the kindness of others. The kindness of members. The kindness of my companion. The kindness of investigators. The kindness of strangers! How beautiful a day when kindness touches it. I am thankful.
"Who can tell what far-reaching impact we can have if we are only kind?
May we be models of kindness. May we ever live up to the words of the Savior: 'By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.'"
(Joseph B. Wirthlin)
Remember that those small and simple acts make an impact beyond our view. Love others! Be kind.
Have a happy week! Enjoy some air conditioning for me.
