HEY HEY HEY. What's up ya'll?? I seriously have no idea what Just chillin in Cedar Rapids means, but my sister told me that it was in a vine and here I am in Cedar Rapids...so I decided it would work good as a title. Hopefully it doesn't mean anything bad! If it does, don't blame the naive little missionary in Iowa. I'M INNOCENT.
This week has been SO GOOD, but SO BUSY!! We had Missionary Leadership Council on Tuesday that we had to be at all day in Iowa City, and then we had meetings on Thursday and Friday that we had to be at and prepare and give training at. All the while we're doing this, we have to find the time to do work in our area so that we can continue to have a "model area" and be examples to the other sisters! Leadership positions are hard work! I'm glad I have Sister Williams to help me out though! She's teaching me a lot and she's super patient with me. We were blessed though and we were able to do lots of teaching and talk to lots of people along with all of the meetings and training we were giving. I'm grateful The Lord helped us find the time to do what we needed!
Being here in Cedar Rapids is such a culture shock sometimes. I had a really good experience in Sacrament Meeting yesterday though. Sister Williams and I were sitting in between two of the people we are teaching and I looked around and realized that we were surrounded by a bunch of recent converts who all just happen to be African. Most of them don't speak a whole lot of English and I'm sure they don't all fully understand everything that's being said in sacrament meeting, but when they take the sacrament, they do it with such a reverence. There's something so sweet about it, you can really tell that they're remembering their Savior Jesus Christ and what He's done for them. That's the true meaning of Sacrament. I've decided that I'm going to make more of a concerted effort to make the Sacrament more sacred! I would invite all of you to do it as well! It's so much more fulfilling that way!
I'm sorry I'm not sending home pics this week! I left my camera at home on the charger! But I will make up for it next week! Pinky promise!!
