So I honestly can't remember what happened this last week or the week before that... but here's some highlights I do remember of the last 2 weeks(ish) here in the blessed Caribbean!
1. MLC y consejo de zona! So we headed up to the north side again for good ole MLC (Mission Leadership Council). We talked a lot about loving and working with the members. I loved it because really the best missionaries are the members and the best way to share God's love is through talking to your friends about His gospel, so we are really excited to implement some tips we learned! Oh tambien, we went to PANDA EXPRESS before we got too far and wow it was a treat.
2. Transfers. Not much happened to the hnas in our zone (whoot whoot). But I did end up driving to Guayama and back to do a switch - it was great :)) Haha but funny story... We stopped by the good ole american food chain - McDonalds and I being boricua en mi corazon (Puerto Rican in my heart), ordered a frappe - thinking it was a normal PR frappe sin (WITHOUT) coffee. I WAS WRONG! Please don't tell president I accidentally drank some before realizing my mistake :)) haha good thing God is super forgiving!
3. So this happened a while ago but don't know if I told you but we wrote Vida a rap as a baptismal gift in a journal we got him. He, as a professional rapper, told us it was quite good. I am proud :) Also please enjoy the collage he made of us and the pamphlets we taught him with.
4. Our house celebrated staying together one more transfer by buying matching botas.
5. Miracle family from last week - Gabriela and her mom Jarisa are still awesome. We are hoping they come to church next week!!
6. Sunday. This had to be the best Sunday of my entire mission! First, a new amigo of ours (Jose) came to church with his LDM (Book of Mormon), loved it and then BORE HIS TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST!! We have only taught him the first lesson and he just kept saying this feels good and following Jesus is the most important thing. My heart was full. Tambien como 3 miembros gave their testimonies on missionary work and gave such nice shout outs to us as they said that they were so excited to see the work blossoming here in Cabo Rojo. AND our bishop invited us to come talk to him after church to tell us how grateful he was and to give us blessings and cookies. He bought us fig newtons!!! It may seem random but I mentioned how much I liked them at dinner with him and his wife a while ago and they remembered!!! I felt so loved!!! God is so good.
And so my scripture today is about the immediate goodness of God:
Mosiah 25:10 And again, when they thought of the immediate goodness of God, and his power in delivering Alma and his brethren out of the hands of the Lamanites and of bondage, they did raise their voices and give thanks to God.
If we ever find ourselves in any sort of "bondage" from the weight of life, I invite you to think of the goodness of God and call on Him to deliver you because God IS good and WILL help you. I have seen His goodness more than I could ever imagine over my mission and know that His goodness if for everyone.
