November 1, letter to Mariah

Hermana Angell, November 1, 2015
Wow how weird is that, I just typed November! Can’t believe it’s already fall and most of the leaves have fallen now. The weather has been pretty good this fall and I love a warmer fall. How has your weather been?
I really enjoyed your letter from last week. I’m so thankful you had the opportunity to have Hermana Welch as a companion for as long as you did and then to meet Sister Tui and become so close in such a short period of time, what a blessing for you and for them. I sure hope it works out that you will be close to them after the mission. I can’t wait to see the temple pics and I’m so happy you get to attend regularly. Happy you received answers to your questions at the temple. Isn’t it wonderful that we get answers in the House of the Lord directly from our Father in Heaven. Mariah, I love how you asked and you received an answer on how to grow during this transfer. The Lord knows us inside and out. How is the transfer going my girl? I’m so glad you’ve been able to understand and learn the very important lesson of not knowing why Heavenly Father gives us difficult things in this life but trusting in His plan for us that all will work out. I have had to learn this several times throughout my life and some lessons were much harder and longer than others but each time I was finally able to finally look back after some time and be thankful I was given that problem or difficult time because I was able to grow and stretch and become a better more faithful woman because of it. These experiences, hard as they may be, bring us closer to God. I’m so glad you are serving a mission and becoming a ‘bright diamond’ because of all the things you are learning and growing your testimony.
Sounds like Gonzolo is a great man. Is there going to be anyone to continue teaching him? If not maybe you prepared Him for his baptism in the next life.
Yum how fun you got to celebrate your bday at cheese cake factory, sounds like fun!
How is the Christ like communication going? I had to practice that this week when someone was not nice to me and sent me a mean email. I wanted to do the very opposite and beat her up lol. It felt good to recall your words from your letter/email about how you were going to practice Christ like communication. You saved her life with your words to me (jk)! Haha So how is the LOVE going this past week? Have you been patient with her and with yourself? I hope she is kind to you and that she is discovering how awesome you are!
This past week was good. I have been editing a lot of senior pictures for Riley Werner. I’ll send you a couple. I have more editing this week for Conner Fergason, another senior. Next Saturday I am taking pictures for the Mangus family and their 10 grandkids. That should be fun to try and get them all sitting still for! Haha
I missed you yesterday as we were preparing for the Halloween party. The usual attended and Natasha helped me get ready by cleaning the house and putting up decorations. Natasha had the idea to make strawberry ghosts and hotdog mummies. Something she saw on Pinterest. I’ll send pics. They turned out so cute and every last one was eaten up. She reminds me so much of you now days. She loves party’s and preparing for them. We had a good time last night but you were absolutely in my thoughts. The whole week you have been on my mind, I think mostly because it was this time last year that we made some great memories before you left. I looked at the pictures of you and me on your light strand in your room at the Halloween party at our house and then I was driving home from work the other day and was thinking about you going grocery shopping with me and the little girls at Meijer. I started crying out of the blue. Haven’t done that in a long time. So glad we made so many great memories before you left so that I can still feel you near even if you are in Denver. I love you so much my girl and I’m so glad you are where you are and serving a mission, in spite of me missing you, a mission is where you should be!
Is it safe to mail the same size boxes to your new address? Do you have a big enough mail box for those boxes or should I mail them to the mission address?
Do you like your new area and ward? What is your companion like? Take a picture of your new apartment for me, I would love to see where you are living now. How long has your companion been out and where is she from? Where was Hermana Welch from, I don’t remember?
I got a blessing this past Monday. I was having a hard day. I needed some direction in my life and to feel the spirit more. It was good to receive a blessing and to be able to get answers to my prayers and my thoughts. I know that Heavenly Fathers knows best for me and that He will always guide my path if I will go to Him.
I have a few verses for you to read when you have a moment. D&C 123: 12-17
12: For there are many yet on the earth among all sects, parties, and denominations, who are blinded by the subtle craftiness of men, whereby they lie in wait to deceive, and who are only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it-
13- Therefore, that we should waste and wear out our lives in bringing to light all the hidden things of darkness, wherein we know them; and they are truly manifest from heaven-
14- These should be attended to with great earnestness.
Read the rest on your own when you can.
You are the ship with the helm that can steer people to the light that is hidden.
I know God will continue to watch over you and protect you. I felt peace about that this week. I also know that your Heavenly Father loves you because you are His faithful servant. He will continue to guide you and your work.
I love you so much my Hermana Angell!
Love Mom
