Feeling Better I hope!
to Madison
So, I hope this finds you feeling so much better than last week. I've been in little contact with Sister Billadeau...I reached out to the the mission president just to see if I would be notified of your test results as they came in, or I should wait to hear from you this week. Sister Hughes responded and got me in touch with the nurse. She has given me the test results and how happy you have been despite all the pain. We had the best news through an email on Friday night (which was your Saturday morning) that you were "feeling great" with a discomfort level down to a 1. It was such a blessing to hear. I am not sure if all your symptoms are gone/still feeling good, but I am so grateful for the blessing of Sister Billadeau being able to help you, the doctor's and the Lord blessing you with strength and perspective during this difficult time. I am so very proud of you for reaching out and getting the help you need, relying on the Lord, and trying to stay positive through it all. In addition, I am so proud that you are obedient to the mission rules. I know that you have had to exercise by yourself...but you have done it...and exercising is going to help your body function properly. I admire you for being obedient. I do have to admit that I was worried a bit, but I relied on Heavenly Father to bless not only you, but me as well. So, instead of worrying, I took care of the sisters here in our ward. I took some of the frozen meat that members gave them and made them omelets and taco meat to last them through the week. I know that we are always blessed through service-if only we forget ourselves!
Some thoughts...and then some questions.
Why do we remain firm and steadfast? from D. Todd Christensen's address in April. I asked myself this question as well. Came up with a few thoughts. 1-I remain firm and steadfast so that I will know what to do when life's challenges get on overdrive. I might not know all the answers to the situations that I am asked to deal with, but I can rely on the true principles of the doctrine until the Lord sees fit to give me more knowledge. 2-Joy. True joy doesn't come from a lack of trials and challenges, but through the Peace of Jesus Christ. That is something that I can remain firm and steadfast in. Then: If I know these things, my job is to...
1-be really good at what I do (meaning do the research and study relating to whatever our "job" is)
2-my goal would be to help "clients" along the way so that they "feel good" and can do good
3-manifest to those I come in contact with the peace, joy, and healing power of the Atonement
If we know why we individually remain firm and steadfast, then we will be capable to do "our job" for the Lord.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (whole chapter about light of gospel and mortal trails vs. eternal glory)
Questions and answers:
1-I found out that I cannot send batteries or rechargeable batteries. Julie Hess had an issue with customs-and so we can't send batteries now. It was also noted that you should be able to purchase them there.
2-I am putting together an air mail package to send in November-You mentioned a calendar, mentos, face powder, and eyebrow pencil- I think I got all of these except for the type of eyebrow pencil. Cassidy thought it was elf brand at Target, but I wanted to check.
3-Anything else you would like in the airmail package? It obviously has to be light weight...
chips, crackers, cereal, toilet paper, pads, ?? I just wanted to ask before I just send some stuff- I try and go by inspiration, but information always increased inspiration. I want it to be a FUN package for you and your companion to share.
4-How is the language for you? You mentioned that you were speaking Tagalog to the doctor (that only speaks English) so, I assume you are doing well with the language.
I cannot wait to hear about your week. I am SO honored to be your mother!!!!!
Love, Mom
