Hey Y'all!!

I'm so jealous of Y'all getting all that sunshine and vitamin D! It's still pretty cold here, but I think it'll start warming up soon, so I'm pumped!! I seriously love my area so much. The members love us a lot too! This past week we have been fed lunch and dinner everyday. It's awesome! The members here are also so excited to do missionary work, and it's so fun to work with them.

Brigham Young explained one of our duties as members of the church, “There is neither man or woman in this Church who is not on a mission. That mission will last as long as they live, and it is to do good, to promote righteousness, to teach the principles of truth, and to prevail upon themselves and everybody around them to live those principles that they may obtain eternal life” everyone has the opportunity to be a missionary! All we have to do is share with others how the gospel has blessed your life and bare testimony that you know it will bless their life. They will be more interested in learning about something if they can see how passionate you are about it. It will be intriguing to them, and they will want to learn more.
Before my mission, I never thought of sharing my religion with others, it terrified me. I felt like I didn't know enough to be able to teach others. That is Satan's little trap. We are playing right into Satan's plan as we keep our mouths shut about our knowledge of the gospel. There is a song we listen to every morning and the lyrics say, "you don't have to know everything, to know that you believe" I love this because the most powerful things you can share with others is what you do know and your testimony. I know that each of us can be missionaries and we can all help hasten the work. If we study our scriptures faithfully, the Holy Ghost will answer our questions we have and your knowledge of the gospel will expand. (1 Nephi 10:19) Then we are promised in Doctrine and Covenants 84:85 the spirit will help you know what to say to others. I know this to be true because I have seen it while I have been sharing the gospel with others. It's the best feeling knowing that the spirit is working through you, and everyone can experience this because it is a promised blessing.

One goal I made as I am reading the Book of Mormon is not to just read it to get through it, but to read it so the Book of Mormon is getting through to me. God gave us the Book of Mormon for a reason, it's full of answers to our everyday questions. Why not take advantage of that.

I am beyond grateful to be a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am so thankful to be able to teach as a missionary the gospel of Jesus Christ and tell others of their potential as sons and daughters of God in this life and in the life to come.

President David O. McKay said, “Let us realize that the privilege to work is a gift, that the power to work is a blessing, that the love of work is success” our investigator Therese is so awesome, she seriously amazes me. She just got a new job and has to work crazy hours. She told us that she has made it a goal to make someone's day better and be of service to someone each day. Therese said I want to make a difference in the someone's day and make a good contribution to the world. I'm so happy I am able to know Therese, she blesses my life with her goodness. We are hoping she will be baptized in the next month.

So this week, was very funny haha I've been asked some pretty hilarious questions. My favorite question was from a lady named Dottie. We were having lunch with a member and Dottie was her nonmember friend. The member, Sister Workman told us Dottie isn't interested in the church, "so we shouldn't try and baptize her but just be nice" Anyways, at lunch we asked Sister Workman to tell us her conversion story and why she joined the church. It was a really fun lunch, and right before we left Dottie said to us "I got one question for Y'all" .... "how do you not have sex?!" Her question caught me off guard and I started cracking up and said "well we haven't had sex, so we don't know what we're missing out on!" Everyone started cracking up! But then we got more serious and told her how we are waiting until we find the right guy and are married to them. She told us she wished she would have waited and respected us. That woman is a hoot though I was glad I got to meet her!

Sister Draper and I are also very talented painters, so if you need a good paint job, hit us up! Haha we got to paint for like 6 hours this week, it was a blast!

Have a super amazing week everyone, you guys are awesome!
