"The Holy Ghost can outsmart scoundrels."

Hey y'all!!

This week's subject line is brought to you by the famous Richard BRYAN Bowlds. What a guy. Words to live by.😂

Alright, life is just amazing and the gospel makes happiness possible!! The gospel also unites us together. I am so thankful for all the relationships I have been able to build with amazing people while I have been out here sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. This week we were able to touch the Filson's heart with our message of Jesus Christ. Their family is not the typical family we get to teach. They legit have their own pond in their backyard and a little island next to the pond. We had our lesson on the island. As we were walking over the bridge to the island to have our discussion, I was in awe that this was actually happening, and that these people genuinely wanted to hear our message. Incredible. Miracles do happen and the gospel softens hearts! And they are taking us out to dinner on Thurday!! You know they are good investigators when they feed you.😉

The impact we have as members of the church to others is extraordinary. We may not even know that we are leaving a good impression with someone, but I can testify, if we are living the gospel, our light will shine, and others will see and feel that light. The Filson family lived next door to Mormons for years, and they were always impressed with how good of people they were. Because this family lived the gospel, the Filson family was able to see and feel of their light and now are accepting of us coming to share that light with them. Keep letting that light shine!💛

This week, we got back into contact with Stacy!! President Vanwormer (2nd counselor in the mission presidency) referred her over to us, and Stacy is incredible. Stacy has such a special place in my heart. Her family and home life isn't ideal and it's been neat to work with her in the past, and teach her the gospel. She can really feel that this will change her life. She went out of town for a couple weeks, but got back into town on Sunday, and we were the first ones there to greet her home! I can see a lot of good things coming for Stacy.

Living in today's world, it's not surprising that there are a lot of concerns and challenges. I have been thinking a lot about how to get answers to these challenges and concerns. As I was reading in Preach My Gospel, I found the answer to my prayers and had a "oh duh" moment. In PMG, it focused on how the Book of Mormon can answer or resolve ANY and ALL questions and concerns. I made it my goal to first turn to the Book of Mormon when I don't know what to do, when I don't know what to say, and when I don't know where to go. I know as we rely on the teachings contained in the Book of Mormon, which are focused and revolved on Jesus Christ, nothing can stand in our way in finding peace, hope, and love.

I'm coming to see the importance of faith leading to action. As our faith increases, our actions should be in accordance with the Lord. President Lee said, “This is the principle in action. If you want the blessing, don’t just kneel down and pray about it. Prepare yourselves in every conceivable way you can in order to make yourselves worthy to receive the blessing you seek”.

One way I am striving to prepare myself for blessings is to doubt nothing. Over the course of a mission, I can see how easy it is to doubt. Doubting gets in the way of real faith. In Ether, it teaches us to get rid of "the veil of unbelief." I can see personally in my life as I have tried with all my might to turn my doubts over to the Lord, I can feel my faith increase, and my trust strengthen in the Lord. I've started making a doubt list. I know it might sound weird, but for me literally writing down the doubts and fears that go through my head help me to see what actually goes through my mind and I can get that out on to paper and then take it to the Lord. I've noticed a difference in my life as I have done this day after day. We can "doubt not, fear not" and know the Lord is with us! Making him apart of us and giving him all those things that get in the way of having faith will allow our faith to expand. We can be transformed into faithful children who doubt nothing!

Love youinns,
Sister Lauren Ashlee Ludwig
