Who's excited to gain some weight this weekend?? Hahah okay I shouldn't joke about that, but I'm so excited for all the yummy food😊 Sister Campbell and I get to have Thanksgiving with the Kappes Klan!! They are one of the biggest families in our ward. It should be a blast! Most of the grandchildren, love to give each other nicknames by spelling their name backwards. They've all now named me giwdul😂 we're excited for this Thanksgiving, should be a blast :)
As I was reading in the Book of Mormon this week, I came across a verse that totally prepared me for this Thanksgiving. Alma 26:37 says, "Now my brethren, we see that God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever. Amen." At this time, Ammon is rejoicing of all the amazing things God has blessed him with. This whole chapter was a list of what Ammon was thankful for. We really do have so much to be thankful for, not only around this time of the year, but all day, everyday ;) Follow Ammon's example and make your own list of all the things you are thankful for and share it with our Father in Heaven.
We had zone conference this week, always a good time!! I got to see a ton of missionaries that I love a lot. It was such an uplifting meeting, and we got to learn more about the new #LightTheWorld initiative this year, it's going to be awesome!! Usually after zone conferences you are pretty drained. We cram a lot of spiritual events into one day. I had a pounding headache, so I got some medicine that had caffeine in it. Big mistake. I haven't had any caffeine on my mission. Some of you may be blessed with a video to see my craziness hahaha. It didn't take me long to hit the hay that night...
The Young Women invited us to come teach them Wednesday night about mending clothes and tips on how to dress on a mission. Good thing I have Sister Campbell here to be the guru on sewing!!
I've been thinking a lot about our time here on earth and how we are suppose to grow and progress. I get very caught up in wanting to go from point a to point z... but really I need to go to point b. God's plan for us can help us jump from one point in our lives to another. As we call on heaven's help for guidance and assistance, we can see where we need to improve right now, and how we can to do it, to be better. There are so many roads that we can walk in this life. But there is only one road that the Savior himself walked. He gives us the chance to take a back road, or make a u turn, or even back up and get back on his road with him. We have so many opportunities to allow our feet to be walking where his have once been. We have every opportunity to try and keep trying. What an AWESOME plan God has given us💛💛
Take some time everyday to be thankful!!
