Missionary goals...
Hi, I'm Sister Medina. I'm from Peru and I'm Sis. Rietz's companion. I'm writing this because she is a bit of lazy and she told me that her mom said that if she can't write I have to do it. So I'm obedient. :)
She's perfect! Almost an angel and the best missionary. Everyday is an amazing new experience in Pajan...We're teaching a family (they're 10 people; parents are married, they live in the middle of nothing) They're Aguilera Soledispa <3...We've never thought to teach a big family and is the best experience as missionaries...seriously, thank you so much for bring Christmas to Pajan in this month! :) - Hermana Medina
Jaja Okay, if that's not the greatest thing ever I don't know what is. My comp is adorable and she only had to ask me a couple of words. But yeah, I've been failing pretty miserably at this whole writing thing! But the falla (failure) is there is never time so quick updates so I don't leave ya'll hanging this week. So Imma just expand on the words of my companion and testify of the truthfulness, like our lessons. jaja:) Mission jokes.
But its super true that everyday in Pajan is a new experience and really we're not even in Pajan that much. This week we had a good amount of traveling, and the best was that we got to go to the temple again!! Super Awesome, and I had about the coolest experience ever. We entered the session with a bunch of missionaries and at the end a couple slipped right in as it started. Totally normal and we started the session but this lady was just staring me down. I smiled like any normal friendly sister missionary and I just figured she had me confused with some other gringa (cause that happens all the time). Bueno, we got through the session without the staring distracting me too much and after she runs up to me and tells me that she is a convert of my dad's. What? lots of tears, lots of hugs. My dream since I got my call to come to Ecuador and even better it happened in the temple!! We got to talk for a few minutes and I got to meet her mom who also is a convert of my dad's and it was just about the most fulfilling moment of my entire life. I got to see the results and blessings this family has received from missionary work, huge testimony builder, and good reminder of the importance of missionary work.
While I'm here counting my blessings, shout out to the fam for sending me the best package ever, or in the words of my comp "bringing Christmas to Pajan". We had a good ol' time opening everything and remembering the commodities of living in the United States. jaja. I'm teaching my comp how all foods combine with peanut butter, it didn't take long to convert her jaja.
Okay, investigators quick rundown...
Carmen Chavez: super duper awesome. She came to the church sola, and has accepted baptism but has a challenge with going to church, so we keep having to push her baptism back.
Moiserata Quijije: jaja Good luck trying to figure out how to pronounce that. But this guy, augh, drives me nuts. He's super ready for baptism, but he just keeps telling us in 2020, he's gonna get baptized. jaja. No idea why he's so set on that, but is't pretty funny. We'll see whose stubbornness wins in the end.:)
Aguilera Family: the most humble people on the planet and my favorites to teach. They are always excited to learn. It's always a challenge to get to their house but we always find a way. This week we decided to bring a video to teach them about the Book of Mormon and they were glued to the screen. They didn't even notice that the power went out jaja, and we ended up using the light of the DVD player to teach the rest of the lesson.
Well, I feel super accomplished right now because writing a complete letter was one of my goals for the week, and in about 10 seconds I'll have completed that. Despite the lack of information I've been sending, I'm doing great and really can't believe how fast the time is going and...
Much amor de Ecuador.
