Sorry this is on Tuesday, but our zone moved PDay to Tuesday this week since people are usually home from work on the holidays and it's a good time to go and see them. This was actually such a blessing for us as we were able to see two of our investigators that we don't ever get to see anymore. The first one we went to see is Vanetta. She had two of her friends move in with her a couple of weeks ago and they've not been the best of influences on her. So she was really struggling and we haven't been able to go and see her because she is "always busy". But we stopped by yesterday and she was home alone so we were able to sit down and read some scriptures with her. It was really amazing because we had a lot of things that we wanted to say to her about what she needed to do but couldn't because we didn't want to offend her so the Spirit spoke to her and told her what she needed to do, and then she was able to relay it to us. It was really amazing to see our prayers answered, and that Heavenly Father really has been preparing her heart to hearing and accepting the gospel.
The second family we were able to go and see were actually a family that we had dropped previously because we could never get in to see them. But we felt prompted to stop by so we did and Alex answered the door. He was sick and so he couldn't work, and then April came home a few minutes later and she had been sick as well. So we had the opportunity to serve them and soften their hearts a little. We cleaned their apartment from them and I think it really helped a lot so we are going to try and stop by this week and maybe we can get them to come to church! :)
This week has been a bit of a rough one finding my focus. I was really struggling on Thursday and Friday especially, but I am so grateful for a District Leader who really follows the promptings of the Spirit. We went to district meeting on Friday morning and it was seriously one of the best ones I have ever been to. He answered so many of my questions, and did a training on how to find our focus and turn it back to the goals that we had or still have even from the beginning of our missions. I can't even explain in words how strong the Spirit was in that meeting and really touched my heart with what I needed to hear at that time.
There are so many tender mercies all around us and all we have to do is open our hearts and be looking for the hand of God in our lives. When we turn to Him in humility and ask for help we really will be able to see it. I love the opportunity I have to rely on our Savior Jesus Christ and use His Atonement to find peace and comfort during times of trial and hardship.
