JEFF WAS BAPTIZED THIS WEEK! It was the coolest experience ever. I have absolutely loved watching his conversion and watching his life change. I mean it was all the Lord, but I feel blessed that He allowed me to have this opportunity. One of my favorite things is seeing how the gospel of Jesus Christ changes people. Both physically and spiritually! I mean honestly it is the coolest thing. I have been able to watch as the light in Jeff's eyes has increased, as he has started carrying himself a lot higher and more confident, and how he actually shaved!! That was the craziest. I will send pictures. His testimony at the baptism was the most tender thing. I mean it's always a sweet experience when you see someone like him shed a few tears as he is explaining how he knows that God is real and Jesus Christ is our Savior. I have no words to explain how blessed and happy I feel. When he came out of the water he said, "I feel like Superman!" Wow. The Lord did all the work but I was just so blessed to be an instrument in His hands. Also that title is what Jeff said his purpose in life is! Because of his life experiences he should be a vegetable right now but he says that he has a greater purpose and that is to serve God and build hot rods!
This week we did some service for Feeding South Dakota and here is the video because it was on the news! But it was really sad because President Stocks last minute asked the elders to come help too and so they took our spotlight... hahahahaha but it's all good! My dress and my watch are in the video! Haha. It's cool that we have started to build these relationships with these service places and now they trust us enough to let us be on the media.
Sorry this email is a little bit shorter, I'm still trying to figure out how to balance time and it takes me a long time to think about what I want to say.
But I want you to know that I know this is the true church. As Jeff was getting baptized this week, I had another confirmation that God knows us and our needs, and that He is real. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that He can change our lives if we live the gospel and follow His commandments. There are so many blessings in store for us and I am so grateful that I get to witness the Lord working in other people's lives. As we share the gospel with others, we will see His hand more abundantly in our lives as well.
I love you and hope you make it a great week!
Love, Sister Mortensen
