Hello! It's your friendly neighborhood Sister Peace!
I feel like I start every email with "Hey Everybody" so I'm switching it up just to add some variety!
So this week was absolutely crazy, and honestly I don't remember most of it.
So, Sister Freeman and I have a university that we go to often because that's where the YSA are, and we've been wanting to do a Hot Chocolate booth there for a while now. We planned to do it on the 22nd of Feburary. The only problem is, we needed resources, so we asked the Institute, and we asked the Stake and both were super slow to get back to us. So Wednesday rolled around and our District Leaders asked if we were gonna do it. Sister Freeman started to say no, the but the spirit just hit me really strong saying "Do it!!" So I told them that yes, we were going to do it, and that we were gonna bring the entire district with us so we all could proselyte at the university for a couple of hours.
Then started the 48 hours of stress. The Institute told us later that day that they wouldn't be able to help us, and the stake thought that Friday was much too soon. I was very confused, didn't they understand that the spirit told me we needed this to happen on Friday?? But they weren't on the same page as us, so Sister Freeman and I decided to take matters into our own hands.
We ran to Walmart and bought the cheapest cups and hot chocolate we could find, and then we asked the stake if we could borrow their jugs and they said yes.
Well, Friday morning comes and we realize that we do not have enough hot chocolate, by a long shot. But we decided to go ahead with it anyways. We texted the Zone Leaders and asked if they had any extra hot chocolate, and they brought all they had. It took us nearly an hour, but we filled two big jugs with hot chocolate. Then we loaded everything up and headed to campus.
It was SO SUCCESSFUL! We did a Family History theme and we had tons of people coming up to us and asking about it! By the end, we had found about ten people that said they were interested in hearing more about the church!! Our district was amazing, and they really helped us out! The APs were even there because they cover the other YSA Stake! It was so amazing!
The Lord really helped us out with the Hot Chocolate Booth! We totally thought we wouldn't have enough supplies and it turned out we had more than enough! It was a real life "Five Loaves and Two Fishes" story!! As Nephi said:
"I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them"
I know the Lord provides a way for us to accomplish the things he commands!
I hope y'all have a wonderful week!
