Forgetting things...

Hola everyone!
This week at the MTC has been so fun and LONG! I have never been this tired before in my life! I am waking up early on a regular basis and using all my brain power during the day. The best part about it is that I am happy! I am excited, learning and growing everyday.

I have learned this past week to rely on the Spirit in my missionary work like I have never done before! Last Thursday, I was with my companion teaching our interested person (our teacher in a disguise) when we asked what her relationship was like with God. (Quick pause here, this was a role play, so her answers are not true to life because she is providing us with an opportunity to practice teaching). Her response was not good because several years ago her baby passed away. As I listened to her life story, I realized that the scripture we had planned to teach her was good but not what she needed to hear. I thought I needed to share a different scripture I had studied the day before, I could not however remember what chapter of Mosiah it was in! So I frantically started flipping though my scriptures trying to find it, with no success. As I was flipping through, this highlight caught my eye so I shared it! It was Mosiah 16:8-11 "But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ..." My companion and I were able to bear a very simple but heartfelt testimony that families are eternal, and we will all be resurrected because of our Savior Jesus Christ. As soon as our teacher left the zoom room, I remembered the original scripture reference I had wanted to share with her, and as I read those verses, I knew that it would not have invited the same sweet Spirit that we just felt.

I know that the Lord is in this work, and He will help us to remember (or forget) things to help to bring to pass His purposes. I know that as we rely on Him for strength and comfort, we will be able to do all things He would have us do.

I hope you all stay safe and healthy! Love ya!
