May We Choose a Positive Attitude!
Family & Friends,
Well, this week has been good, we've done a LOT with members... basically everything... Brother Perry is our GML for the Ramstein 2nd ward and I just LOVE him and his wife! They are awesome! We had a dinner with them and a non-member friend. We also helped one sister go to the doctors, and have been helping her with other stuff, but yeah, it's been good, been busy! haha :3 I have met a TON of members! Can't tell you about all of them because it's literally been a new family every night and sometimes even lunch...
This week’s favorite moment was last night with Sister Kinsman and Malinda, we didn't get to teach her because the movers were there all day... so instead we helped Sister Kinsman cut out some things for Primary, it was super fun, we talked as we cut and ate cookies. Sister Kinsman was super grateful for the help. She had printed 1800 little pictures and laminated them (that's what we were cutting), and she has to have it all done by Sunday, so it was just an awesome fun girls night and doing some service! :3
The military is interesting, everything is so complicated! It's very political... but the people that I've met so far are amazing!!! They are such hard workers, all fit, haha, and just super nice! :3 A cool thing about our area too is we get to see all the military airplanes fly overhead every day! This morning it looked super awesome because it was a bit foggy and one came flying over and it looked like a shadow through the mist, but was super loud! :3
Kate has been sick quite a bit this week, so we haven't met with her this week and she didn't come to church. Malinda’s daughter decided yesterday….SHE WANTS TO GET BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will end up happening in their new ward... I think it's so awesome! She also is going to go to girl’s camp! Plus, Malinda is going to get her Patriarchal blessing before she goes!! So all's well with Malinda and her girls! :3
Did you know that we have German ancestry!? I found a whole line on Sunday through my mom’s side and I am soooo excited! And guess what! One of them is from Darmstadt!!! :3 So cool, we should totally do some family history and find some more of our German ancestors and go and do the work for them in the temple here! :3
I want to share this quote from President Thomas S. Monson: “We can’t direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails. For maximum happiness, peace, and contentment, may we choose a positive attitude." I really like this, because it's so true, we can't control everything that comes our way, but we can control how we will act/react to it, we can choose to be happy, we can choose to be positive no matter what comes our way, and I think the most comforting part is knowing that we can't control those winds, but God can. He can calm our seas, and the storms in life, he can stay the winds, anything God is capable of, he is Alpha and Omega. Adjust your sails, and trust in him!
Well, I hope you're having a great week! I LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH! Sister Jessica Freeman
