I am not going to lie, the beginning of the week was really, really, hard for me, it was stressful, rushed, and I was really depressed. I read my mom's email about my great-grandmother dying... yeah, I didn't actually see that one coming so it was a bit of a shock at first. I was really confused and sad, it made me realize that things do happen to them while I'm here. It kind of scared me, and I felt really depressed, alone, and stressed all day. The next day I got a call from the president, at first I thought it was because I had forgotten to send my weekly email to him, but it was because he was concerned and wanted to tell me to email my mom later that day to help me feel a bit better I guess. As the day went on it got a lot better. Later in the day, I emailed my mom, which was very helpful and made me feel a lot better. On the day of the funeral I wore purple! My companion told me she had a purple shirt I could use so... it was in memory of grandma! Sounds like you guys had a good week. I love all the pictures! The funeral looks like it was happy and lots of purple! Sarah also looks like she's in heaven, petting all those deer in Japan! Ugh, I want to pet one! 😄
The work this week has been good. We had an appointment with one of our investigators to help him understand and apply forgiveness. A sister from our ward, that accompanied us, was amazing; she had very relate-able stories similar to his and was so helpful in answering his questions. This time he even said he would ask God for help to be able to forgive! Last time he told us no and walked away, so it was great!
We did some street contacting again this week and I stopped someone on a bike!!! My goal is already done! 🙂
We've had a few little miracles especially just on Saturday. My favorite moment this week was after one of our investigators dropped out of coming to see a baptism we decided to go invite random people to come and see it. Haha, it kind of surprised people and they were actually nicer to being asked to go see a baptism than what we normally ask them.
The first contact was a lady and her young daughters! They are now one of our potentials! Got their number and we will be contacting them in about 2 weeks because they're going to be gone on vacation. The second was a young man sitting by a building looking at his phone, the thought came immediately, “Talk to him!” and I told Sister Young, “You’re up!” We went over and asked if he would be interested in coming with us to go see the baptism, after introducing ourselves as missionaries of course. He was super nice and actually wanted to go, but couldn't, so I invited him to go to church with us and he said yes!! It was so cool! Then we talked to this older lady and ask her if she would be interested in going with us. She said she didn't have any time at the moment, but then talked to us a bit and how she actually knew the Mormon church and that she has a Book of Mormon still from some previous missionaries that knocked on her door. She also talked to us about her chance that she had to see the Salt Lake City Temple and told us how she admired us for being so young and for what we we're doing. We gave her our card and told her if she had any questions to call us. I hope she does, she so sweet! When we got to the street where the church is I saw a man getting stuff for his work ready in his truck. I told Sister Young we should talk to him, she told me, “He's all yours!” I went up to him and asked him if he would be interested in going to the baptism with us. He said he couldn't because he had to go to work but then started to tell us that he has seen our church before where he's from and how he was also given a Book of Mormon! We talked with him for a while about it, he was so nice! We got his number and a time when best to call him. He was really happy to talk to us and about meeting us later! We didn't get anyone to come see the baptism but we got 3 potentials! It was crazy!
The baptism was good! Then one of the members came up to us and gave us a referral! That never happens! It was just so great, haha! In fact, it was so great I couldn't keep all my happiness in anymore and when I saw Sister Metsner, she's my favorite lady ever, I love her, I just let it all out to her - hahaha! I saw her and shouted, “Sister Metsner, I'm so excited to see you!” She looked at me surprised as I hugged her and asked, “Me? Why?” Then I said. “Because I love you!” Then we told her about all that happened that day. Then that evening we had someone call that apparently, two years ago, met with sister missionaries and now wants to do so again. But yeah many miracles! 🙂 So that was my week!
