Hola mis amigos!!! Wowow this week has been exciting!!!! I've been out for more than 4 months now and I can't believe it!!! Transfers are this week, and me and Hermana Sanchez are staying in Midland and getting Hermana Casuga!! Still thriving in the Trio life!!!
Wednesday we had a lesson with a member Hermana Pallan, and the spirit just came so strong. She was so open with us and she spoke English so haha that was kinda nice! But we talked to her about CPR (church, pray, read) and she expressed how she had been feeling distanced from God, and wanted to change. We read with her the first few verses of Enos and she loved them. Y'all the power that comes from praying and daily repentance and reading the scriptures, those primary answers is soooo real. I know that when we do these things with real intent our lives are changed for the better!
The missionary devotional this week was amazing! Elder Renlund talked about how we can receive answers to prayers and He said one way that God answers is when we don't receive feelings of uneasiness or feelings that what we have asked is right. This is when we feel like we may not be receiving an answer. When this happens he said that we should be happy to know that God trusts us to make the right decision. There's been many times when I have felt that I wasn't receiving an answer, but I know that God places in us more trust than we know. He loves us so much!I had my second exchange this week with Hermana White!!! She is the BEST!!! I had to lead out my area and wowow the spanish part of that was exciting haha. But she helped me be so much more confident and I realized that really it is in God's hands!
We had a lesson with a less active member totally in spanish and, I actually understood most of it! The gift of tongues is a blessing! The Holy Ghost is like the coolest friend ever!!
Ricardo, a member in our bishopric, reached out to us last week and asked us to start teaching his son Karim, so that he could make a decision if baptism was for him. It was the coolest thing! Karim knows the Bible so well, and had some of the coolest questions ever. He was so engaged and when we asked him to pray about baptism, he said he would! In the closing prayer he said bless that I will get baptized, and it made me and Hermana White were so excited! I was grinning during the entire prayer! We also got to eat sushi that was BOMB with Ricardo! He is so awesome!!
Hermana White gave me sooo many good suggestions during exchanges and I will be forever grateful, but one of the coolest things she reminded me about was how important Christ's name is. She asked me, "why do we always rush at the end of prayers when we close in His name?" His name has so much power, and can bring the spirit so strongly. I am definitely going to be keeping this in mind! She also talked to me a lot about change! Change is so amazing! It is sooooo hard, but without it I know that I wouldn't grow. Through all the changes that have already happened on the mission I have had to rely on God in more ways that ever before. He is there! He listens!
This week we also had lunch with our neighbor who happens to be a member in the English ward. Her name is Helma and she is so freaking awesome! She is from Africa and served a mission! She is seriously so cute! This week we had to get "tar and feathered" because of a Facebook boot camp we did with the missionaries haha so we got "syruped and floured" and she filmed the whole video! Hahahaha it was hilarious! But anyways during lunch we had amazing Indian food, and we talked to her about Christ's names. I shared about my favorite: Prince of Peace. Throughout my life, and especially these past few months He has been my source of peace. Something really cool that someone shared about this name was that Satan can imitate love, joy, and many other feelings to trick us , but he cannot imitate peace. I know that peace can be found through Christ! He is the reason I can have hope each day and have a fresh new start again and again. My invitation this week Is for y'all to think of your favorite name of Christ and apply it to your day! I know this can help you be happier and remember Him more often! Love you all so much!Hermana Blotter 1. Karim and Kael and us! 2.sushi with Ricardo and Esteban 3.The best district Danny's with the Barrio 4. missionaries!!
