Maayong Pasko Everyone!!!
My companions and I have decided that Christmas is so different as a missionary. No matter how many times i read Luke 2 with members or we listen to the entire Micheal Buble Christmas album, it is just different. Not to mention the fact that i am still sweating and it is Christmas Eve...it's fine, I'm fine. It's different, but not in a bad way at all. The people here treasure Christmas time which is shown in their desire to talk about Christ, and the increase in karaoke which i thought had already reached a max. We can start any conversation here just by asking if they believe in Christ and the answer 99% of the time is, "oh, of course!" (that one percent time was kind of awkward and i was stumped). The people here and glowing and I am so excited to share this time of year with them:)
Quick update because it has been a while haha sorry: I transferred! I am now in Loon Bohol and i have TWO companions! Sister Yambao and Sister Stahmann are amazing, and everyday is a party with them. The branch here is small, but because of the grace of God, the work is progressing. We have a new investigator who is progressing and eager to change his life. Joshua is 17 and he came to church yesterday! President and Sister Maughan attended our church service yesterday, and President Maughan wanted to talk to Joshua. President gave some really good advice to him, but Joshua is suuuper shy and President is like a 9 foot tall American (exaggerating a little). We pray that that experience did not scare him away from the church HAHA.
Anyway, i really do wish you all a Merry CHRISTmas. Please don't forget to sit down and picture that beautiful night in Bethlehem. I love Christ, and I know He is our Savior. I say that line so many times everyday, and it is true every time. I invite you all to say it a little more:)
Love - Sister Carroll
