Some four year old kid threw a knife at me this morning...so how is your day??? Haha this kid was super funny and not wearing clothes like most of the kids here, but he was very distracting during out lesson so his grandma sent him outside while we taught. And guess what? He returned with a knife and threw it right at me hahahahhaa. Don't worry it landed about three feet in front of me.
ANother week in the Philippines!!! Honestly, this is still crazy to me hahahah but i keep going and i am learning ALOT. Not much happened this week, but there were two exciting things! I went on my first exchanges with the STL's! This was super fun because i got to teach in a new area with Sister Goldthorpe who just happens to be an American too! Needless to say we got sooooo many funny looks and many people asked if were siblings because we are both white. We taught a lot and she helped me find my confidence even without knowing the language. She also gave me a TON of tips like the fact that i need to carry around toilet paper because NOBODY USES THAT HERE!!! not even my companion haha.
Second thing, We had a baptism this week! He is one of our investigators, but i didn't help teach any of his lessons so i just stood there and smiled really excited for him! He sacrificed a lot to be a part of this church and he says he can see it blessing his life alot. But, guess what? When we got to the church to prepare for the baptism, the font was already full of dirty water. When we tried to drain it, the drain didn't work! So! Being the geniuses that we are, Sister Bating and I with the help of another member grabbed three buckets and we emptied the entire font with three mop buckets. Yeah.... it took forever. But then i remembered haha i signed up for this. So i continued until it was done no matter how wet my skirt was or how much sweat was drowning my face. In my mind i kept saying, "It's not over, until it's over". Seems obvious right??? But just remember that our trials and afflictions are but a short moment, and someday we WILL REST in the presence of Christ. Trust me, i think about that moment every day haha.
I love you all!!! Keep walking with Christ in your daily activities, and keep the prayers coming for little Sister Carroll trying to survive in Asia!
