I really don't have a lot to say this week, mainly because Sis Rolfson and I were sick for a few days so not a whole lot happened :( But there were a few highlights worthy of mentioning!!
General Conference was incredible. I especially loved Elder Holland's talk. He reminded me not to be afraid of tomorrow, because as long as we are following the path, Heavenly Father will take care of us! I loved this part: "Please remember tomorrow, and all the days after that, that the Lord blesses those who want to improve, who accept the need for commandments and try to keep them, who cherish Christlike virtues and strive to the best of their ability to acquire them. If you stumble in that pursuit, so does everyone; the Savior is there to help you keep going…Brothers and sisters, the first great commandment of all eternity is to love God with all our heart, might, mind, and strength. That’s the first great commandment. But the first great truth of all eternity is that God loves us with all of His heart, might, mind, and strength… Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever." One other moment that really touched me was when Pres Uchtdorf stood to continue the meeting after Elder Patrick Kearon spoke about refugees. I thought about it and realized that Pres Uchtdorf was once a refugee, too, and you could clearly see that the Spirit had touched him strongly as he had tears in his eyes. Conference day was super fun because Sunday we got to watch conference with a part-member family, the O's. The Spirit was definitely there, and it was such a positive experience for the kids, Milla and Sascha. In between sessions, we helped them clean up their house because their landlady is visiting this week. It was a great day of service, love, and words from the prophets!! :)
Last night at the monthly Temple Music Devotional, Palmer came! You may not recognize that name, but she was one of my investigators in my last area. She was the first person I taught about the Restoration :) Anyway, she just randomly texted Pres Ellis, one of our mission counselors who had been fellowshipping her, and wanted to catch up since it's been a few months! So he invited her to the devo, and I got to sit with her and catch up and chat and laugh and it was awesome... I know she felt the Spirit and she mentioned really missing it. I know Heavenly Father is helping her on her path.
Those were basically the best two parts of my week... but I can't wait to have more to tell you next time! Love y'all!
