Hey everybody!I am just going to give you the most exciting parts of the week:
We set a baptism date with Sam and Tosh!! :) They are getting married this Saturday, and baptized on Saturday the 26th - the day before Easter! We are so excited! I will definitely be sending pics. We have gotten to know Tosh a lot better this week, and we were happy to see that some ladies in the ward had gotten her some hand-me-down skirts for her and Addison.
I got to have an interview with President Orgill this week! I can't describe how wonderful it is simply to be in a room with him. He doesn't even have to say anything before you feel completely loved and trusted. No worries - no big changes or anything, he just wanted some information and advice about some sisters I am over in preparation for transfers.
We are once again car-less! :P Our car started having trouble last night, and we had to take it to the shop this morning. We don't know how long we will be without, but we will see. Prayers would be appreciated. Also, if you have ever in your life considered buying a Chevy Cruze, DON'T DO IT. That is all I have to say.
We were in a parade this week! :) The San Juan Capistrano Swallows' Day Parade. We were part of a group of about 60 missionaries who joined members to dress up and march as the Mormon Battalion. It was in memory of 169 years ago when the Mormon Battalion really did march straight through San Juan Capistrano, and it's a parade tradition. We had so much fun, and Sister Brown got to be one of the drummers! Everyone loved it!
We have a new investigator this week, as well - her name is Cathy and she is 63. One of the women in the ward is friends with her and asked us to go see her because she is having a hard time. She is in the middle of a divorce, and she will have to move out of her house soon. She's a nurse at a nearby Catholic high school, but she isn't Catholic herself. She is so sweet and loving, and she loves hearing our messages and having us over. The second time we went over this week we had to dance with her in her kitchen before we could sit down and talk! :) haha she is so much fun.
The new Easter video is out!!! :D It's only 2 minutes, it's non-denominational, and it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Go watch it!! Seriously!!
http://FollowHim.Mormon.org #hallelujah I love how it relates to family history, as well. Just a thought.
Before I forget, I know you won't read this now because you're in Africa, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAEGAN :) Love you girl.
I finished the Book of Mormon for the 3rd time yesterday :) Yeah, I know. Not a whole lot of times, but I've read it so many times out of order, this is just my 3rd time in order. I was so thrilled to start over this morning!! I just feel the Spirit bringing peace to my soul every time I open those pages. I know the Book of Mormon is true, and I know that Jesus is the Christ, as the Book of Mormon promises. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us, and that He has a plan for our happiness. I love y'all. "I am mindful of you always in my prayers, continually praying unto God the Father in the name of his Holy Child, Jesus, that he, through his infinite goodness and grace, will keep you through the endurance of faith on his name to the end." (Moroni 8:3)
Love you! Until next time!
