This week I went to the departing dinner for Sister Baker and the sisters who came out with her. There were a lot of tears shed as we went around and shared our favorite memories with these rockstar sisters. It was a night of laughter, and also goodbyes. It will be hard to say goodbye to 9 sisters next week.
Thursday we had a fun adventure when we had to drop off the car at the dealership to get the trunk fixed. The key simply wouldn't open it anymore. No idea why. But we'll have to bring it back soon so they can change something electrical in the engine that I didn't understand as well, so that will be fun.
um... ok so this week wasn't that eventful. Oh! But Saturday we helped Sister Howard decorate her house and put up lights, and then we headed to UCI campus to go talk to people. We've handed out 16 Books of Mormon this week! WOOO! :) It's been really cool bearing our testimony to people we meet about the power of the word of God. We've also been sharing the Christmas video with our ipad.
Saturday night we had a lesson with Pilar at the Schweikerts' house. It was really nice to be in a member's home for the lesson, as the spirit is so strong in a home where the gospel is being taught, loved, and lived.
One super exciting event, though, was the YSA ward Christmas party! The theme was "Christmas South of the Border." We had so much fun! I definitely participated in the limbo (only once, after all I was wearing a skirt), and we all took turns hitting the pinata. I absolutely smashed it, as Sister VDB would say. No for real I smashed it to pieces. It was really super nice to let out the energy ;)
Other than that, I got to bear my testimony yesterday in church. I have come to know and love so many people here, and I am so grateful for that. I have seen so many miracles wrought by their faith and prayers. I wanted them to know that I know that a Savior was born, and that because Christ was born, we have a pathway home. Because of Him, we can overcome all things, and nothing can separate us from His love.
My ponderize scripture this week is John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
I love you so much! Be of good cheer! Merry Christmas,
Sister Bambas
