Today's the big day! Heather is doing last minute packing and we will leave for the airport very soon. Here are some fun tidbits from getting ready to leave:
1. Not only does she still have room in her suitcases, she actually packed the carry-on INSIDE one of the large suitcases because she just didn't need the room! Of course, she does have a few items to buy in Utah before she goes into the MTC and she will gather a few more items to take with her while at the MTC. But strangely enough, this Sister missionary actually followed the recommendations and did not overpack!!! ;)
2. Sister Heather Bambas was set apart as a missionary Sunday evening, June 21 by Pres. Tipps of the Murfreesboro TN stake, assisted by her father. Pres. Tipps had some sweet encouraging words for her and expressed great confidence in her abilities as a missionary. It was a touching family time and we were also joined by one of Heather's best friends for the occasion.
3. The rest of Sunday evening -- literally, we finished about midnight! -- was spent carefully checking and double checking the packing list and arranging everything into the suitcases. Good friends Madi and Nicole helped and tried to keep Heather focused and calm. Little sister Faith tried to help, but emotions were running really high! Hugs and tears all around before the evening was over.
4. We are going to spend about an hour doing some last second shopping and errands, then we are off to the airport! This day arrived way too fast...
