Hello friends and family!!! First off, if you haven't watched conference STOP READING AND GO WATCH IT. Wait actually keep reading, then go watch haha I have a lot to say!
Quick update on this week: We are doing a lot of finding which means I have almost worn out a pair of shoes already haha! On Friday we got to go to Mission Leadership Council (MLC) in Utica which was super fun! It was all the Zone Leader's and STL's from the mission! Everyone stood up and said how long they've been out on their missions, 18 months, 20 months, 14 months, and then me....3 months! Haha (I rounded down for dramatic effect lol) I feel really blessed to be learning from all these incredible experienced missionaries though and WOW did I learn a lot!! Also funny story: I convinced my companion to ask our mission President's wife for pizza the night we got into the mission home and then she felt bad and just asked if she had cereal. haha Sister Rogers got out all this breakfast food and told us to make whatever we wanted and then before I knew what was happening, I had made breakfast burritos for like 16 missionaries at 9:00 pm???
At MLC, President Rogers said this quote that may have changed my entire life. He said "Peter had to step out onto the water for Christ to hold him up." In Matthew 14:23-33 we read about this, that Peter believed in Christ and was able to walk on water and when he doubted, he started to sink. He cries out to the Lord for help and what does Christ do? "And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand." Not only did Christ save Peter in his time of need, but he did it so quickly. Do you guys know that this is true for us too?! "O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" I will be the first to admit that sometimes I am Peter! Sometimes, I am sinking in water and Christ is just a cry away. But can we focus for a second on the fact that Peter actually walked out onto the water???? WHAT? I want to have faith like that! The Lord will always be there to catch us so why fear falling or failing?? Step out onto the water!!!
CONFERENCE: Conference as a missionary is THE BEST. I cannot pick a favorite conference talk but I think I finally settled on a favorite quote! "Christ's Atonement is an unfathomable gift given at an incomprehensible cost." Enough said. I just want to bear testimony that I know that the Lord, Jesus Christ is my older brother and that he has seen everything we will ever go through. I know He loves us and wants to take the burdens placed upon us so that even we "cannot feel them upon our backs." (Mosiah 24:14) I know this because I have felt the Atonement work in my life and the blessings of turning to the Lord. If we only, like Peter, have the courage to step out onto the water, we can accomplish whatever it is that the Lord has in store for us.
I hope you are all on spiritual highs from this weekend!!! I love you all and remember, so does the Lord!!!!
