One Year Older and Wiser Too

I hit my one year mark last Thursday! Woohoo!

It's funny, when I tell people that I have six months left they either emphasize how long that is or how short that is. Usually if they are members, they are the ones saying it is short because they understand mission time. I can honestly say this has been the best year of my life. It is not at all easy but the hard times are worth it for how much I am changing for the better because of those around me, the Spirit and Jesus Christ. I also love being apart of the process of helping others improve their lives.

And now a quote:

"Through Jesus Christ, we become one with God."

-Clamel Gallego

He is so amazing. Even though his knowledge of the Book of Mormon only extends to last March, he already understands it so well. I can just imagine him as such a stellar gospel doctrine teacher. His testimony of Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon are so strong. I cannot believe that God has blessed me enough to be apart of his conversion to the truth. His future is so bright. I cannot wait for his baptism on August 24th! At the end of the lesson we asked if there was anything they'd like to say or add and Clamel goes "Just, thank you."

We had a great lesson with an 18-year-old named Joe. He is the nephew of a member in the ward so he already has a strong support and they have offered their house for us to teach him. He told us he has looked into a few different churches. When we asked him what he was looking for he said Jesus Christ. I opened to 2 Nephi 25:26 and looked over to realize that Sister Prado had looked up the same exact verse. At the end, his uncle presented a quote from St. Augustine "To know more about ourselves, we need to know God." The best.

Brother Boyat Batayola received the Aaronic Priesthood last Sunday. You know, the brother that we found reading the Bible while drinking at 10:00am last February. Members from the ward provided a white shirt, tie and slacks for him. The Elders Quorum seem to be doing a really great job in welcoming him!

Anyway, I look forward to another six months of miracles and am loving life.
