ahhhh november. que rapid!!
we have transfers in one week and my comp and I cant help but shed a tear thinking about the fact that we might not be together in one week. But Heavenly Father answers specific prayers so hopefully we'll be together the rest of our missions ;) haha.
this week was quite the week. we had ANOTHER miracle baptism. this miracle seriously fell from the sky just like the bird poop that fell on my head earlier today. A member we met a few weeks ago chased us down and told us that his daughter wasn't a member. Well we started teaching his daughter Tanas, and we had several lessons with her. It was so great. When we were teaching the first lesson to her we shared the First Vision of Joseph Smith. The Spirit was SO stong and when we asked her how she felt she said she felt something different, but she felt really good. Then she accepted the invitation to be baptized. I felt the Spirit SO strong. Yesterday we had her baptism! Not only were we able to be apart of Tañas baptism, but her dad started coming back to church and got to baptize her. Best thing ever to be apart of.
Some other funny things that happened this week: this little girl told me the other day that "wow my toes must be really hungry" because I am starting to get huge holes in the front of my shoes. we got a kick out of that comment. haha we are also teaching this really cute old lady named Maria Leanor, who Im pretty sure was a beauty queen when she was younger. okay maybe not but she acts like it. haha shes so funny. She made my companion and I necklaces and every time my comp and I go over to her house she tells us how one of us needs to marry her son, even though hes like 35 haha shes funny.
We are also are teaching this couple who the wife doesnt believe in God, and yesterday they came to church with us. She said she liked it a lot, but she still doesnt know if God exists. Its so hard for me to think that there are many people that dont believe in God, but I know that if we ask in sincere prayer, God will answer our prayers and we can know that He is there.
A few weeks ago we were teaching one of our recent converts and her friend came in and was really sick. We were with the elders and I got the feeling to ask the elders if they could give a preisthood blessing to the lady. At first I was a little hesitant, because we had invited the friend to church before and she wasnt really interested in the "whole religion thing" she had told us. But, I asked one of the elders, and they ended up giving her a preisthood blessing. During the blessing she started crying and I know its because she felt the Spirit. The next day we saw the lady and she told us that the pain in her stomach had stopped and she felt a lot better. I know that the power of the priesthood is real and that it blesses the lives of others.
oh yeah...we went to a Taylor Swift concert!!! no just kidding. but we did listen to two little girls next door sing taylor Swift for like 2 hours the other night. so basically its the same thing.
have a great week and nos vemos next week!
